Garry, you don't have to start your own trucking company to drive a nice truck and be home twice a month. There are countless companies that will give you that opportunity. Let them take all of the financial risk and do the work of running the business while you drive their beautiful truck.
The more replys.. the more I am thinking company drive.......THIS A GREAT SITE........

Ok here is the deal or my plan. I start trucking school in 2 weeks. see below: * Just retired after 30+yrs..No relationship, grandkids n another state..:) and no dog, so I'm bored..:) *Want to see the USA and get paided for it.. *Once I'm outta school and pass the trainer time. I want to Go right into lease, and only wanta be home 2x's a month(gotta give the house watcher some time off..:) I said all that to say this... I want to be in Trucking, I want to have a new Truck, and I want to see the USA.... I have family people that are route drivers and have been out there with them so I know some of the things that go on out there. Im good with numbers and Time...... Long time ago I use to drive a str truck from Pa making deliveries in North Jersey and Downtown Manhatten in front of Macy's. (rush hour in and out of NYC, parking, and paying to unload quicker..:) So Im set to JUMP in and do what I have been missing..... Your opinion will be noted.......
Happy Trucking everybody...

Rookie not getting miles....should I lease?
Lease..hummmm Not a good thing..... YOUR GETTING 90 cents a mile, and it cost 70 cents a mile to run the truck... do the math and then you should have YOUR answer..... Safe trucking
