This is great information, thanks. I'm a psd LEAVING Campus Inn hopefully by Friday, so any advice is welcome.

I've heard horror stories about people being here for weeks. For me, I won't get discouraged or negative. I quit my job and rode two days on that darn Greyhound to be negative. Somebody will want me, I hope...lol

I've been going through the high road training program and finished it twice and as well have been practicing on multiple android apps that provide information as well. I'm currently sitting at the greyhound station heading to Missouri and had a question though.

Are the tests variable or do they all cover the same information? I'm going to have to take the missouri test is why I'm asking.

Congrats on passing and best of luck to you. I get on the bus heading to Springfield Saturday morning, I' excited and nervous all at the same time. I have been using THR and the book. I'm thinking of taking the written test here in NC but not sure if I should or not. Anyways Congrats to you again.....

So I'm using the High Road, have been at it a good part of the day. Great program, thank you for taking the time to put it together. i'm getting on the bus to Springfield on Saturday I just hope I'm ready to take this test....

I have been working my way through the High Road and so far seems fairly easy although I have missed a few questions. I really hope the state test is as easy.....

I am still trying to get in with prime. The recruiter has not followed through on anything. I am about ready to request a different recruiter.

I submitted my app Sunday afternoon to Prime and probably an hour or so later the recruiter (Derek) called. I'm on track to be in Springfield on Monday the 22

It won't be this weekend bit next. I got the call and email from recruiter today and plan on being in Springfield on the 22nd. I'm in NC so I'm hoping to get paired with a trainer from this area. We shall see.

Hey there David. Just to let you know, there is a good chance you may in fact get 2 different trainers. The first will be the PSD trainer that will train you to drive to pass the CDL exam. If things go well and he/she lives in your area, you may go ahead and do TNT training with that same trainer. If not, after you get your CDL you may get another trainer for TNT.

Also here's how getting hooked up with a trainer works from the trainer side: We get a list from the program of students that fit our criteria for training. IE smoker/non-smoker, male/female, geographical location, age and division student wants to train in and the PSD's phone numbers. From here the trainer will call and start "interviewing" prospective PSD's. If you don't get a call from a trainer earlier in the week, then the program will match you with somebody that fits both criteria on Friday.

Trainers going thru the CDL instructor program "should" be coming into the sim lab when PSD's are there and also hang around the smoking area or cafeteria talking to students during the week. If not you'll start seeing them on Thursday when PSD's and CDL instructors attend the pad class at Prime East.

There are quite a few trainers that only test PSD and others that only test TNT. The rest will do both. Myself, I'll only take a TNT if they live in Florida or southern Georgia. That way we can take home time as I like to go home at least every 21-28 days. I don't like being out any longer. But I'm a minority in that respect, it seems most others stay out much longer than I.

I should be in Springfield late Friday or early Saturday. If I can't get a load going there, I may wait until the next week to pick up another PSD or stay out 3 weeks solo and try again after my next home time.

Lastly I'll give you some friendly advice. Be careful as there seems to be a few trainers that may try and talk you into driving for them or drive their equipment after you get your CDL. My last PSD was hit up by 2 individuals promising higher pay and better freight if they drove their trucks and didn't go company. I'd be wary of these people. Unfortunately there are some "less than stellar" people that are trainers. If you feel there may be a conflict between your trainer and yourself, you have a right to ask for another. But don't be too picky. You may find yourself sitting longer waiting on a perfect fit that quite honestly may never get if you set your standards too high. I generally won't take a student that listens to rap music as I find hearing the "N" word and MF'er every other word is highly offensive. I won't do it again. Unless there's an agreement to never listen to the radio which I don't let happen the first few days anyway while the PSD is driving, no more rap music for me.

Thanks for the heads up on the shady drivers. I have been around a little bit, at 48 yrs old i have been around a few shady people in my time and i'm not quick to be taken in and usually research things before jumping in with both feet. In fact i'm starting to have second thoughts about Prime. I'm reading on here that solo company drivers are issued the small cramped trucks (LW) and i'm not sure that's for me. I was assuming i would have a larger space if i was going to be out so long. I guess I have some more thinking to do.
