After 7 years doing inner city Ministry on the North Side of Pittsburgh, it's time for a change. I've been called the old, bald, fat white guy with street cred in the hood. I've been able to help young men get into college (and several have already graduated), Jobs, Trades, Ministry and the military. The youth I work with attend some of the worst high schools in America. The emotions of my job have taking me from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows. I'm ready for a new career.

I was in downtown Minneapolis. I was checking my gps and moved my wheel too hard and it set off my camera.
The only thing an ex employer can disclose is that they terminated me. I just have never been terminated from a position before.

Enjoying Yourself as an Over The Road Driver
I’ve been driving for 2 1/2 years now. I thoroughly enjoy listening to podcasts. I feel like I’m getting a college education and getting paid for it. I try to listen to things outside of my comfort zone as well as things that resonate and i agree with. It’s been an enlightening time. I hope for many more years of this and I’m making more money than i planned on and expected. That’s allowed me to not have the stress of bills which i had when i started.
I’ve also been listening to a verse by verse lecture series on the Bible which has been fascinating. It’s very in depth and just the book of Genesis had over 40 hour long lectures to it.

According to a memo put out by my company, this is the last year i will be able to write off the $63 a night I’m on the road. This gives me a net of $4500-$5000 when i get my taxes done.
Does anyone have any hard data on the implications of the new tax law?
From my current perspective, I’m going to lose $4-$5 a year in what i consider income come tax time. Please tell me I’m wrong.

We have a husband and wife team here at Schneider on the regional Walmart account. Instead of teaming they have their own schedules so they can enjoy more time at home and time together vs. one person driving while the other is sleeping.
I'm curious, how did you settle on CR England being one of your choices? They're a great company as far as miles and equipment are concerned, but their pay is really low. Now maybe they just recently changed that, but I haven't heard anything.
There are a lot of companies that offer training and we have a ton of information on them. Pages and pages of information in fact:
You can also apply to a bunch of companies at once with one quick form on our site to see what opportunities you'll have:

I've been with Schneider now for 2 years. I live in Pittsburgh and do the Walmart account out of Wintersville, Oh. They paid for my cdl training and then paid me while I trained for my account out of Indianapolis. Walmart has been an excellent account to start with. Lots of easy backing and no touch freight. I work a 6 on and 2 day off schedule. I made $62k my first year plus I maxed out my tax returns with about $4500 extra for sleeping in my truck. I'm on target for 75k this year. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I'm totally willing to show my pay stubs.

In September I will be in this business for 2 years. I run a dedicated Walmart account for Schneider in Ohio, pa and West Virginia. I made 62k my first year and I'm on target for 74k this year. I have all the basic benefits and will receive an extra paid week after2 years. It's 100% no touch freight.
I'm looking to potentially better my position with 2 years experience. The only potential suitors I see right now are Walmart company drivers and potentially Sheetz or source one tankers.
Any suggestions or advice on bettering my position? Not just pay but the complete benefits package.
Thanks in advance.

Schneider tankers or Schneider no touch regional WalMart account
Thanks guys. I decided on the Walmart account. I figured the experience would mean more over the long haul.
