Hey I.m Thinking seriously about becoming a Truck driver. I'm currently working in law enforcement so this will be a big change for me. I'm looking at Miller Motto Trucking School in Charleston Sc The cost is $4,000 they say I'll get finished in four weeks if I go fulltime.
I realize that driving these trucks is no joke and I want the best training I can get. I want to make sure I know what I'm doing and not just take a CDl class . I worried about the amount of drive time they said I will get behind the wheel time of 20-25 hours I don't think its going to be enough.
I'm Also concerned that the Company trucks I see them driving id CL England. I was looking at the reviews of the is company and they frankly gave me reason to pause. So I have said I would pay on own schooling cost upfront and then research for the best company to go with after I complete my training.
I looking for a honest Company that will treat me right I'm A hard honest worker but don't want to get with the wrong school or Company. I also need to know what I can expect to be paid after I leave the school and start my over the round training so I can see how to plan my budget.
Two things at are important to me personally is I want to be be with a company that will let me take my wife along from time to time and my small dog. I'm ready to make a change been Military Cop and a teacher kids grown now thinking this would be hard work but enjoyable. Open to advice from you guys.. I have already started study my CDL book and will be getting a Dot Physical next week Planning on starting school here in the next three weeks or so.
