From all I've read utilizing the resources on this website, you should not have a problem getting a job with one ticket in three years...as long as you weren't charged with reckless driving. Besides the ticket, I think companies are looking closely at patterns of driving habits, so if this ticket is the only moving violation you have on your record I think you should be OK. Just my thoughts....

thanks fellas I do feel alot better. I really do want my cdl even if I can get one and not have a trucking job after. Ill even take refresher courses every so often until the ticket issues are resolved. After being in class for a couple days I have alot of respect for truck drivers now.

I live pennsylvania and I got a speeding ticket going over the limit by 15mph. First ticket in about 10 years and I am also in school for my cdl . Now am I waisting my time in going to school for my cdl? My license was never suspended or taken away. So this is my first ticket within 3 years.

I was in the same boat, Rich. Got my first speeding ticket in like, "forever" - 15 over just like you in July last year. In November I started talking to truck companies. Knight said wait one year (to July this year). Swift said come on down.

So, there's still hope for you!

thankx im trying to hang in there but I have doubts. I cant believe I got that ticket. I still have about 6 months of school to go. I dont have a criminal background. I dont speed alot. I got caught in july too. Fourth of july weekend. I dont drink and I stopped smoking like 3 months ago to be a truck driver. I definitely dont want a job. I need a career that I can actually survive off of.
