Going this way is the best thing you can do. Not many companies will allow a low of pre-hires. My cousin who worked with a DUI lawyer told me once how difficult it can be to get a job who has a DUI conviction against his name. So I think going the pre-hire route is best feasible option and then you can get into mainstream with time.
