Swift or Celadon hard decision
Celadon wont take any money true. But during your contract only pay 27 cents per mile. Your contact is for 120,000 miles. If you dont complete your contract, you owe the complete amount for training, $ 7,200. If you already have your cdl they pay 36 cents per mile. If you do the math, 6 cents per mile for 120,000 =7,200. (This is what they charge for training) That still leaves 3 cents per mile that they keep. So in all actuality your paying $ 10,300 for training.

Osborn Transportation out of Gadsden AL ( part of Celadon)
Osborn Transportation Is owned by Celadon. They have a Honda account for the plant in Lincon Al. This account is given to local drivers and most are home every night, average 2700-3000 miles a week. Freightliner Cascadeia's (auto) and International Prostars governed to 62mph.
I just got my cdl and am driving with my trainer at the moment. He is on the Honda dedicated routes. He seems to like it. I will be doing southeast regional when finished. (General freight) I will try to update when I have more information. The word around the camp fire is that most drivers are happy here. But like I said I have not had any experience on the general freight side. The honda routes are hard to get unless you have been working for them for awhile.
Experienced drivers start at .34cpm with one cent per mile raise every year.
