AC on apu kicks on, bogs down and kills apu
Hey Kurt, thanks for the reply. First let me apologize, I thought I was hitting the reply Button and accidentally reported your response, so site guys if you're reading this, please disregard the report. Ok on to your reply... What I meant was I tried to run the apu (to charge up the on board ac converter) but it made no difference, still shut down when the apu a/c kicked in. I agree, because it'seems bogging down, it seems like something in the new account compressor is "too tight"? LOL I am not a mechanic but obviously it is somehow robbing power from the apu itself, when coming on. I am taking it back in to the Prime shop in the coming days to get fixed, it'seems getting too hot now, to not have my ac. And I can't idle the truck because of the idle cutoff. (That is going away too, as I lease that truck) Thanks for your reply!

AC on apu kicks on, bogs down and kills apu
Has anyone experienced this? Just had the air compressor on my apu replaced, because it was not blowing cold air, now I have cold air (yay!) EXCEPT that now when my ac kicks on it bogs down and shuts my apu down. It gives a low oil pressure reading on the panel, but oil level is perfect. (I am told this reading is generic for what could be other things). Had the air filter replaced, no change. Was told to drive for a few hours and charge up the battery, did this but no change. Ran the apu without the ac, no change. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Last options I am aware of are oil pressure sensor change or new apu battery?

An in-depth look inside my LW truck (a must see!)
Hey Daniel, the pictures don't seem to be available and I would love to see the in cab utilization of room. Can you re-post or email them to me? I am just past the halfway point in my TNT training and will be taking a light weight soon. Thanks!

Prime Trucking school-my experience
Hey Christian, GREAT posts and perfectly detailed! I am in day 3, Wednesday, of the first week and your daily descriptions have been spot on. Needless to say I could not WAIT to read ahead and get a feel for the coming days 😀. For those of you considering cdl training with Prime or other companies....... CONSIDER PRIME! They have a well oiled machine of a training program here! Christian, like you I passed all 4 learners permit tests on the first go around. This is where I wanted to add in my own comment about that testing. The High Road Training Program...... I can' t say enough about how good this program is! Having said that, you can NOT just take the practice tests, memorize the right answers, and think you will pass the cdl permit test. You MUST understand WHY those answers are right. There are endless ways to ask cdl questions so if you don't have an understanding of the concepts behind the answers, well, get to know them. Make sure you understand what you are reading in the High Road program. If you have any questions, the guys that run and/or follow this site respond wonderfully! (ok enough plugs in there guys?) HA! Thanks for the time you took to share all these detailed steps in your progress with Prime, greatly appreciated Christian. Can't wait to read about the next adventure!

Prime Learner's Permit Test, Pre-Trip?
Just wanted to say thanks to every1 again for the replies. I am in fact using the High Road study guide. I studied the pre trip inspection section on 1 of my Greyhound layovers, and spent much of what is about to be the end of my 28 hour Greyhound tour on hazmat. I have another study question referencing the High Road program. Cargo securement...... Is that for permit study for every1 as well or is that for flatbed haulers? I ask because I will be pulling reefer units. Would make sense for every1 I realize, because all drivers have loads to secure. I only ask to be certain. ( sorry for the noobish question)

Sorry I left out clothes. Again according to their list, enough clothing to be out for 7-10 days. Make sure to pack for cool and warm weather, and bring a sleeping bag or blanket(s) with pillow, as you will be sleeping on the trainer's bunk.

Hey Doc. Your starting date is the same as mine, so wondering if you will be training with Prime? If so, they provided me a list of things to bring.... according to the list, 1 pair of comfortable shoes and 1 pair of boots is what they recommend. Now I had read that some companies (not sure if that means trucking companies or shippers and receivers) require steel toe boots, so I made sure my boots are steel toe. Maybe someone who is already there can provide verification on this for us. Enjoy your training, maybe see you there if you're headed to Prime!

I am leaving for training this weekend and just browsing the forums when I came across this post and the wonderful replies. I gotta say, it's a breath of fresh air to hear people give kind, well thought out, clear headed answers to questions such as this. People these days are too quick to get mad and want to point the finger at someone when the need to do so does not exist. Kudos to Old School and Michael S, nicely answered!
