Living in your rig?

When I went OTR with my ex we didnt have a place at first. We lived in the truck. Got hotel rooms when we could or just slept in the truck. Bought a crockpot or got food that we could take in to the truck stops and heat up. It was the best time of my life to be honest. But I'm adaptable! The last year or two we ended up in a housetruck and that was even better. So for some I guess it works. Being a black sheep of the family and just wanting to go here and go there, see everything..made it easy to stay gone.

Has anyone here just lived in thier tractor for a year or more while on the road? It sounds crazy but if your out long enough, and maybe don't have much to come back home to, a guy could potentially live in some of these tractors.

Just curious the longest time you've been on the road or if anyone has used thier tractor as a "home" for the time being.

Prime has better qualified applicants??

😅 thanks for welcoming me aboard!! I'm alright, was just confused by the quick response of Nope.

Hiya, Betty. Welcome to the "Prime Rejected My Application" club. I became a member 2 years ago.

I ended up getting training and a job from another company. After a year I reapplied and was accepted by Prime.

Don't be too concerned about it. You have plenty of options to choose from.

Thank you. I have filled that out and received a response from Roehl, which I've heard is a great company to start out for.

Keep trying , lots of options.

Need advice(going to take company sponsored CDL training)

Hello, I've been on here for 3 years off and on, checking out the forums. I come back to get inspired because I come so close to going to CDL training with a company then something happens and I'm not going. My dad who is 79 is now living with us. He's not in bad health or anything just came to be closer to family. Well my concern now is what do I do about my dad if I go for my CDL? If I do this my relationship with my bf will be over. He is adamantly against it. So now i have to worry about my dad. He wants to move back to GA but getting him back there seems to not be the easiest thing. So I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and how they handled it? I've been OTR before with my ex for almost 10 years so I know what it's like

Okie doke, thanks.

It could mean a lot of things, really. Maybe they aren't hiring from your area at the moment. Maybe they had an unusually high influx of applicants lately, and are simply picking the cream of the crop. Any number of things. I wouldn't sweat it.

Don't think of it as a negative reflection on your merits. It's just business, and Prime has been known to be very selective at times.

I reached out and filled an app out for Prime and got declined right away! I sent a message to the recruiter and asked why and she told me they had more qualified applicants at this time...??? But they offer the training so just what does she mean?

Prime inc Springfield CDL training 3/6/2017 female student

This really inspires me to stop procrastinating and just go for it. I've been on the road before and was gone a long time so I have family that probably wouldn't be too happy about it but I know if I don't do this I'm gonna regret it! Now I'm gonna keep on reading your posts, just wanted to say you're awesome and I'm so proud n happy for you!!

Thanks guys!!

I got my student driver clearance card today, so I will be touring the millinium building tomorrow morning! So excited! I have my final Sims class tonight at 2130 to 2345. I just had a trainer call me a few minutes ago. She wants to meet up at 1930, I'm getting so nervous! It's becoming so real! I will be in a truck very very soon! What?? A few months ago this was only a thought in my head. So crazy!
