I really like their training. I chose Crete because they had the 600 per week and the fact that training is 8 weeks long allows me enough time to ask everything I may feel I have questions and makes sure I get the help I may need from a trainer. My relationship isn't perfect with my trainer and I bet no one out there would say they have a perfect one. Do we disagree on some things sure but when its go time we both work it out and I think that's most of what being a driver is about, you see a problem you figure it out and move on which is the way I have approached any issues I have. Besides it is only 8 weeks and after that I can do things my way. I think most of the problems that others in my class have had when they switched trainers is mostly a personality conflict. You are not going to learn anything if you always are in a fight with the trainer. To be honest I was dreading being around this person 24x7 and being stuck in a little place with them. The best thing I can do if I need space is too simply go into a truck stop if I can and find other things to do. Tomorrow is the end of my 4th week. I am at the mid way point and that time has blown by crazy fast. My only suggestion if you just don't feel like you are learning anything from your trainer or just fight and argue the whole time find a different one. No one can help you if you don't speak up.
Be safe out there drivers.

I am currently a new student with Crete. They pay $600 for 8 weeks of training. For 4 weeks the trainer is next to you the entire time helping and answering questions. Great starting pay as well, after the 8 weeks of training its between .34 and .36 per mile and then after a full 6 months solo it jumps to .44 to .46. I could me mistaken on that part by a cent or two but you get the idea. I live in Lincoln so I am real close to their terminal. I just completed week 4 of training. I believe next I start something called super solo. Not sure what that is yet but I look forward to some alone time up front.

Yeah no worry in the world. I listed something like 8 jobs when I applied and within a few days they let me know I was good to go. It is easy to stressful over things like this but if the only thing you were worried about was job history then you are going to have a real easy time getting the job you want.

Good evening, grats for wanting to improve yourself it's a big step. One that I certainly made myself a few months ago.
I believe for job history most companies that I found only look at 5 years total for the past work history unless you had a CDL Job before then it jumps to 10 years. Honestly I wanted to work for Crete Carrier so I found they hired students from certain schools so that made my decision on where to get my training a lot easier.
I would certainly pick a CDL school that is going to help you meet your goals for wherever you choose to work. What I found is most companies only wanted to see how honest you were and that you are not trying to hide anything.
Good luck on your new career.

Good afternoon,
I took my road test a couple weeks ago and the best advice that really helped me was this, remember what gear you are in before the shift, if you miss go back into that same gear. That saved me a lot during my road test and boy I missed a bunch and had to change my last name to Grinder. Hope that little tidbit helps a little.

Medical question
Good morning, I wouldn't think it would be problem as long as you got a doctors clearance. I would call my recruiter just to make sure. No sense in going to orientation if your just going need to turn around and go home.
