Why do you wanna leave Pepsi?

Needing some suggestions on what to do to get more experience.

So when I started out, I drove for prime over the road. Didn’t stay too long because I had a new born on the way and decided to go local, found a local job driving for menards out of a d.c. worked for them for almost one year, then moved out of state and currently at driving local for Pepsi and have been for about 6-7 months. Well I’ve decided to go regional, and was leaning heavily towards Crete mainly because from what I understand their great with drivers and are basically a hometown company to me. They told me that menards and Pepsi aren’t what they consider “major companies” which I guess I understand, in the trucking community they aren’t major companies. so they want me to go with a trainer for 3-5 weeks at $600/week which id normally do, but having two kids and my wife not working $600/week isn’t going to cut it with bills and I’m not a fan of the idea on getting behind on all my bills just to have to fight out of it to get level again. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can do to keep getting decent pay but drive for a good sized company. I’ll be driving out of (omaha,ne) I’ve considered Werner but they only have a flatbed account (which I don’t believe is for me) and a dollar tree or general account (which we all know how demanding that job can be).

Barr nunn, marten transport or crete carrier!? :)

I’ve heard great things about Barr nunn, but Crete is like a hometown carrier to me and from what I know they are great to their drivers. Newer equipment, good miles, etc.

GP Transportation Company?

When I started working as a truck driver I started out with prime inc, had no issues at all with them and they taught me very well and I felt very confident getting into a truck, not overly confident, but enough confidence I was able to pay attention to the more important things, and keep a level head in case anything happened, well being over the road ended up being hard on my family, a wife and 2 kids, so I found a local gig, well we are moving to northeast south dakota and I found one local gig however it is one the requires 2 years of experience and for me to be 25, I'm neither, we'll I started looking at regional opportunities, something that'll keep me out, but with enough hometime that I can be in my kids life as much as I can, I found this company called GP transportation that seems to be a great deal, newer trucks, promise weekly hometime, guaranteed 1000 per week, or more, my issues is that I have never heard of this company they are based out of the Chicago area, I've been looking around, found nothing but great reviews from employees but it seems odd that I can't find anything but 5 star reviews that could be a very good thing but I'm one of those guys that can be over suspicious at times I just want to make sure this is a good fit for me and my family, I was just looking to see if anyone possibly knows anything about them.

Getting ready to start CDL School and want some advice?

If you live in the hiring area, I think TMC would be a good fit for ya, they are pro military, hire a lot of vets and from what I've heard their school/orientation is set up kinda like a boot camp in ways. They are flatbed but they only hire in the Midwestern states if I remember right, they are based out of Iowa.

Looking for some type of midwest regional.

So I'm still looking into companies, Western express, and melton are the two I've been looking into the most, I have dry van, and flatbed experience, 6 months driving, currently I'm working a local run in town (omaha, ne) for a company called menards, well my fiance and I found out we may have to move to South Dakota (long story) which will cause me to have to give up my comfy local gig, and we've been talking about me going regional to make more money to pay off debt quicker. I was curious if anyone on here lives in South Dakota, North Dakota, or western Minnesota would know about any good companies to look at for regional work, also, my current job is a heavy hauler job, so I do have HH experience, like I said I've got a couple companies in mind, I was just wanting opinions from other drivers as well. Thank you in advance.
