Werner or some other company?

There is so much info on this awesome site it's hard to find what you need sometimes. It helps if you know where to start. Lol

Thanks for another great link.

Werner or some other company?

I wasn't intentionally vague. I'm new to trucking and don't know what details to ask about.

Will Werner keep me busy? Are they reliable for home time?

Is there a cheat sheet of 5 or so questions that should be asked/answered about a trucking company?

Is Werner a good company to work for? Can I depend on them?

One week down

I'll be in school soon at Sage in Cheyenne and have already started studying with pretest apps and such. There is a lot of info I need to refresh and even more I need to learn for the first time. Definately not to be taken lightly.

Sage school in Cheyenne Wyoming and Werner through Denver Colorado after.

Does Werner have any odd policies? My wife is worried about me being gone...will they have me home every 2-3 days as I was told or is this bad recruiter info?

Anyone in here that works or worked for them that can give me some pointers?

Wyoming shutdown

WHY??? Haha I used to think Wyoming was all right until I started driving i80 every week.

The short and sweet of the long story...I moved here after I finished in the army. I knew I didnt want to live in Illinois where I grew up. Moving to Colorado Springs in a few months though.

Wal-Mart let's truckers fill the lot when I80 is closed as well. Its exit 316. Its on the left shortly after you get off I80. The speed drops to 45 and cops always sit around there.

I've lived in Laramie Wyoming for a little over 3 years now. Its home to semi trucks pushed over by the wind. We see it frequently. Spring is the worst to be travelling on I80 between Laramie and Cheyenne.

That's exactly where I was... stayed at the laramie petro!!! I heard winter was bad... but to a jersey girl like me... winter ends in Jan and feb lol... March and April are for tulips and bunnies lol

Weird thing was it was bright and sunny for 10 miles then the smokey snow rolled in like. Universal studios monster movie. Expected bella lagosi to jump from the ground. Crazy.

Wyoming shutdown

Yeah, it's normal here to have I80 shut down for 3 days to a week. Always keep that in mind when coming through here. Many truck drivers are to agressive in the pass westbound and they're probably the same ones who break down often coming up the mountain east bound. Lol

Sage seems like a great school and Werner said they would consider my 5 years of truck driving in the military as "experience" so I can get right to solo driving the western 11.

I feel good about all this but am I missing pertinent information?

Werner said they can have me home every 2-3 days...can I believe this?

What should I know about driving for Werner that they don't tell me?
