Told Werner I woud do Dollar Gen.

.44 a mile and 160 to unload averaging 3 trailers a week,Family Dollar.My freind say he grosses 1100 a week.

And that has to do with questions I have. Is unloading time considered part of your driving time. I hear what they are saying but you don't drive that many miles so how do you get to the paychecks they say you are going to make. I am a little skeptical. I am not afraid to work I just don't like being mislead. If I am going to be away from my wife I am going to work and make money, don't want to sit around. But I am new and not sure how everything is going to work out the way they say.

Feel like crap, faild my Pre Trip

Thank's I passed today,,Also my Hazmat. Now it's Werner or Navajo Exress,Off I go into the wild blue younder.

B, don't start sounding like the sky is falling, most of fail one or the other when we acquired our CDL and it is disappointing and stressful, but remember your determination is base on how many times you can get up when you feel like your in the ground, soon you will be writing something like this to a future driver that fail one part of his test, ....out

double-quotes-start.png

Passed Air Brake's.The DOT inspector could not tell me why I failed, but told my trainer that I did not tell why I was checking each pc.Told them properly mounted secure, not CBB or leaking, nuts bolt attached both ends. Not good enought,Every hose, wire that i point to and touch I have to explain what it does and why i looking at it.MY CDL School iam attending is being used as a guinea pig for new CDL testing thats start in October,The DOT officers have to test on us so they can be certified.Has to be live testing not classroom. My school agreed to this,But DOT will not tell the school what they or looking for, so we can pass,Good news is on are third try we get to follow under old guide lines so we can pass.I know I did the Pre Trip 100 % followed Daniel B pre trip to the T..All 5 people in my class faild, total Bull,

Nitty gritty on Werner?

Gotta start some where.Werner as good as any.Going to Dallas for my orientation.

Going my self at the end of May,recruiter told me .35 cent mile to start

double-quotes-start.png

I'm in School and I'm thinking about going with Werner. I'm planning on staying with my first Company for at least 2-3 years or more if possible. Is Werner the kind of place where you could be happy for a long time? Does anyone know anything about their SE regional division? The recruiter said it pays a guaranteed $1300/wk. Is that just "snake oil" or what?

Alaska?

Speaking of Alaska, this is only partly related but does anyone know of any OTR jobs that regularly (at least during certain months) bring freight from the lower 48 to Alaska? I have to imagine there are some flatbed jobs bringing up pipe and equipment for oil fields, but I don't actually know.

Most freight goes by Tote,Horizon, lynden by boat, they can get it to Alaska in 5 day's,cheaper and faster then you can drive it,Most freight goes OTR when they go on strike,Alaska is a union port,so only three listed above can pickup from docks.
