Jim Palmer??

I appreciate the response I'm going to try to answer things from all responses, but I just received another email from them and it said that I had been declined, and I'm not exactly sure why. I'm planning on calling the number that was provided along with JP, but the only thing i saw that could possible be an issue that I didn't know about until the sent back the background/MVR, was that I have 5 points on my license. That being said Saturday I'm going to a points reduction class to bring it down 3 points. I'll still have 2 but will that be an issue for future reference? I'm pretty sure I have a fairly clean background and if there is something on it it's something as simple as a simple possession. Which on the JP review on here and via phone they only stated that felonies would be handled on a case by case basis. But at any rate I'm trying not to lose hope, and at the same time trying to have all my ducks in a row that way I can avoid this, I thought I did but apparently not. So that being said I'm gonna keep on trucking and break into this industry one way or another. I really do appreciate all the responses and any advice is welcome !

Hello AV,

I have been following yours and the escapeartists JPT threads with interest. I had also investigated them, i liked different aspects of their operation and the geographic assignments and was certain I had a trainee spot as a non CDL holder. I do believe they do a fairly deep overall workup on you, I thought I had great background with OLD CDLB history but after a phone call that was supposed to be the last hurdle I quickly received word that slots were being assigned to more qualified candidates. Me: Army 88M, 10 years of Clean driving record, 17 year old misdemeanor, stellar work record with continuity and refs from employment........ But 3 on job injuries in 7 years.. ( industrial maintenance and construction is a meatgrinder) the only thing my last call discussed were the medical issues. BTW i consider myself to be in a upper tier of physical conditioning. My sense about your situation is this. Ask them directly for status on the issues you are uncertain about. "Does my record meet your criteria?". Also relax and find inner peace of whatever you want to call it . It's a huge industry out there, and the forum proves it, in my case I moved on to the other option I had, it's comparing apples and oranges but they are both OTR trainee spots and I know for certain the company I signed with more closely aligns with my present and future needs. Palmer was the easiest choice training wise but I am stepping up and welcoming the other. I am very appreciative that I am being given a chance prove my worth. Keep your mind and open without the employment tunnel vision Here's to wishing you a state of "ooooo-saaaaaa"

Also I was told that I was sent an email that I honestly never received but it was made out like I was lying about not receiving it so whatever that's cool, I ended up getting the email and, it really was just a copy of the background/MVR so I'm not really sure what that means.

Was this a copy of the checks they ran on you? You might want to study that document, might offer a clue as to why they have become cold towards you. If anything was discovered that was not originally disclosed on your application, that might be the problem. Tell us what it said...and we might be able to offer some suggestions.

Jim Palmer??

I sure hope so, but I'm starting to get a little skeptical due to the fact at the beginning they (my recruiter) seemed so enthused about getting me up there and getting started with the program and the last couple of days I haven't really heard anything, after them calling to check up on me on a daily. So of course I'm extremely motivated and ready to start ASAP, so I call them to check in and see how things are coming along, and the change in mood is extremely drastic. Its almost like I'm annoying them and that of course isn't my intentions whatsoever. Also I was told that I was sent an email that I honestly never received but it was made out like I was lying about not receiving it so whatever that's cool, I ended up getting the email and, it really was just a copy of the background/MVR so I'm not really sure what that means. I just feel they are being kind of vague with me and I just wanna know what's going on. With that being said I hope everything with you is going better than it is with me right now, because I definitely feel as though I'm at an impasse.

Hello AV....I'm all ears as well. Maybe I'll see you up there (MT)......

Jim Palmer??

So I'm in the process of going to Jim palmer and man are there quite a few hoops to jump through. But I've noticed there isn't too much info from actual people who have went through the program recently, so I was just curious to know if anyone has recently completed the program or actually in the process of completing it that could fill me in a little by more on the details. Cause after speaking with a recruiter I've learn a few things have changed since the review was posted on the site!
