I mistated the facts! They only allow 400 watt inverters...

Crete's Inverter Policy for Company Trucks:

Only a 400 watt or less inverter that plugs into a power outlet is allowed to be used on Company equipment. Under certain circumstances involving health related reasons, the Company will allow a driver providing written consent to install a larger inverter. The larger inverter must be compatible with the Company's equipment as determined by the AMS staff. The inverter may only be installed by staff at designated AMS facilities.

Instances that warrant installation of a larger inverter would be medical reasons, such as sleep apnea, diabetes, etc., requiring electrical accessories to control or monitor the medical condition. However, it should be noted that not all medical related accessories require an inverter. 12-volt outlet isolation may be all that is necessary as opposed to the need for a larger inverter. AMS will determine the proper modification or the need for an inverter based on the power specifications of the medical need accessories.

If you have a medical condition requiring an inverter in excess of 400 watts, please contact your Fleet Manager to start the review and approval process.

Thanks for the info. I was primarily looking to have an inverter big enough to power a microwave, but at 400 watts that wouldn't be possible.

I just wanted to bring this entry out of the dust on page 9. I don't really see much about Crete on the forum. If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask!

I should be going to Shaffer orientation the middle of May. What items do you recommend taking with you to orientation and post time with the trainer? Also, I've heard mixed responses on Shaffer/Crete allowing inverters or inverters being included on their trucks.
