Can you become a truck driver if you had history of mental illness?
Thank you very much mod! :)
Jame C, welcome to the forum!
You will be required to disclose your medical history on your D.O.T. physical. We strongly recommend that you don't try to conceal anything, these trucking companies are pretty heavy handed in their abilities to uncover things. The last thing you want is to be considered dishonest - that is worse than a history of mental illness.
We've had a lot of folks come through here who have suffered from various disorders in their upper story who went on to be successful drivers. The fact that you've gotten off of the meds is a great step in the right direction. Often times it is the medications that one is currently taking that will hinder them more so than their past history.
Here is a link to some of our information on allowable drugs and drug testing procedures.

Nothing major, I don't hallucinate or anything. I've Never been convicted. I don't do illegal drugs. I used to take adderall Zoloft bupropion and klonopin for anxiety attack. I quit everything 3month ago I take natural stuff and very clean diet. I've lost 15lbs. Finally I found hope and I want to start something new and get a job. I feel totally normal.
Can companies or medical examiner find out my record? Can I become a truck driver?

Can you become a truck driver if you are scared to drive a giant trailer rig?
I want to become a truck driver but when I see a big trailer moving so fast. I get kinda scared just by watching the truck. So far I've only driven little truck with basic license.
Do you get used to drive a big trailer after awhile? Is it like driving your own car after couple years? How about blind spots? Ouch I've seen many horrible videos on youtube.
