Basic Trucker's Toolkit - What Should I Bring On The Road?

I do not drive a truck yet. I am going to Squire Transports CDL training (School for Knight Transport) this March. The Things You Need on the Truck List from them said to have a basic tool kit and first aide kit. I do not want to waste money and would like to know what items a "Basic Truckers Took Kit" requires in a truckers experienced opinion. I think I can handle the first aide kit. However I never turn away good advice particularly if it can save me a nickel.

I would also like to know if you prefer one "Trucker's Stuff Store or Website" above any other because of reliable quality and good prices.

Sorry to be in need of so much information. Very blessed by all the help and once again Thank You Thank You Thank You.

Pre-Trip Inspection Study Guide - Flash Cards - Printable download

I was hoping to download and print the flash cards. The site is useful but does not fit in my pocket book and I do not have a lap top or fancy mobile phone. The other downloads for pre-trip flash cards all seem to come with a security warning from microsoft which makes it not a good idea to access.

Does anyone know of a place to purchase or is there a link on Truckers Truth to download and print the flashcards that I am missing?

I have been seeing the reference to a reefer division over and over. I must assume you can not smoke it. However, I have no idea what a reefer division could possibly be. Please tell me and tell me true. wtf-2.gif

Straight Talk do they deliver good service on the road???

I would appreciate input from truckers about their level of satisfaction with Straight Talk mobile phone service. It is a price I can afford, and it uses Verizon's towers so I am hoping to hear good things. However, if Straight Talk can not deliver good service the great price is no deal anymore.

Personal Communication Devices

I would like input regarding the best mobile telephone and or tablets, notebook, laptops for a trucker’s personal use on the road. I am smart phone poor and illiterate but am willing to invest and learn if given a clue as to which and what is best if any and if doing so would be at all beneficial and considered necessary.

If becoming smart phone literate is necessary I would also like to know which service provider is considered the best for truckers.

Best regards,

Going to cdl school in April 2014

I have been studing the free online CDL training on this site. I will have my learners permit before going to school. I am wondering if everything I need to know is on this site for passing my permit test? So much is available online but much of it costs. I am poor and need to save my pennies. But if more is necessary please advise.

I am also afraid of physcal requirements for over the road. My upper body strength is not the best but am working on it. I also read up on some of the truck company requirements and am worried about doing a duck walk for 54 feet. I am not even sure what a duck walk means. I waddle very wellbut I am sure that is not the qualification for which they are looking. All tips appreciated.
