Preparing For School

27. New to trucking. Planning on going to school within two months. Starting a new life with a better income for both my boyfriend and myself. I went to college, work in an office 8-10 hours a day, so I am used to sitting all day. I'm trapped behind four walls everyday with no windows. I need a new experience, why not take a leap of faith? Makes me appreciate that my boyfriend and I will be driving together.

RoadMaster Tampa
Good Afternoon, My boyfriend and I are planning on going to Road Master in Tampa for our CDL training and license. I am 27 and he's 31. There are two schools after that we are looking to attending Werner or Covenant. Can anyone recommend a better school between the two, the pros and cons?
After looking up the information online, there so so so many articles and recruiters trying to get you to attend the school. Road Master is $5,000 upfront or you can finance it for $7,000 and it will be taken out of your check. Which is OK with me as we do not have kids, a house and any other really big loans we owe. Both of our credit is decent and we are planning on paying it back within a year.
Covenant claims they pay .42 Cents per mile after your 8 weeks of training with them. I don't have much info on Werner as our recruiter is pushing us to go to Covenant. Reviews seem ok.
Any information will help lead us in the right directions. I understand live and learn but with no experience in the trucking business any help would be greatly appreciated. Plus, we plan on brining our pup with us.
