When you have a 34 hour reset and you are a thousand miles from home, what are some of the things you do out there besides sitting your tractor and watching TV. Do companies frown on using the tractor to say go see a local tourist attraction or to go shopping. Are there companies out there that allow you to use the tractor in that capacity. Thanks

I am a larger fellow that will be new to trucking soon. I am 6'4". What tractors have the most room inside for the driver and in the rear cab (sleeper). Thank you for your input.

Retiring in February 2017 and looking for good transport company.
I have 30 years experience between the Military and my Law Enforcement service and am retiring in Feb '17. I just obtained my CDL permit with several endorsements. I will start with a local trucking school, Stephens. (maybe Brett has heard of them, they are located in Clarence, NY). My goal is to drive OTR and go everywhere and anywhere. My question is: Will I have to join on with a large company to get the experience or are there several companies out there (not local) that will train me. Thanks for the input.

Newbie
I am from the Northeast and am looking for a OTR job. Looking at Schneider. Can someone give some feedback on them. How are they to work for? What's the pay like? Any helpful comments would be great, Thanks.
