NTTS training day 1

Im in a private school as well, i want to choose my own company to work for rather than going with a company paid training program. When I spoke with the admissions coordinator for the school he did tell me that a lot of companies will reimburse you a portion of your tuition if not all of it. So it is possible to get your tuition paid for without having to go the route of a company paid training program.

Mine is 19 weeks, however I'm only going weekends. That way i can keep my job until i get close to being done then then i will give my notice. I think longer is better in my opinion. I truly want to prosper in this career change.

TDDS Truck Driving School, My Journey.

Kenneth, In my opinion i think it's best to have your families support during this transition into a new career. Honestly you don't want that worry while your on the road learning something new. I'm fortunate, kinda, I'm divorced and my son's are 15/17 and support me making this change for our family. I'm sure they will miss me not being home every night, but I'm hoping with some sacrifice the first few years i can transfer to a company that i can be home more. Unless im lucky to find that right off, but from my research doesn't seem promising for a rookie. Get your family support, that will be a blessing through this process.

I'm glad your posting, i haven't started class yet and it kinda gives me a idea, even though it's a different school. I agree about having a choice as to what company you go with after, as to going with a company paid school.

TDDS Truck Driving School, My Journey.

TDDS Truck Driving School Aug 20th is my 1st day of class. Figured I'd start this now. Im 43 and after a year of pros and cons, I've decided to make the change. I wasn't certain if it would be right for me being a male dominated career, i let fear and uncertainty delay me. However, I'm over that and I'm doing what i desired and moving forward in my career change. After 20+ years in the accounting field I'm moving out of the office and into a truck. I'm excited, I'm a mix of emotions actually. I have been viewing topics on this forum and researching what i will need to learn. Taking in so much that my brain is on overload. I start Aug 20th, my mind is on pre trips, written tests, parts of a truck that i didn't know even existed. Shifting, i drive my boyfriends truck in high school and it was stick, but nothing like a rig. I keep thinking, you can do this Stacie. I know i can. So this is my first blog or what have you. I'm not big into the terms since i never did social media. No Facebook, MySpace, etc.. always kept to myself. So making leaps, any advice anyone can give please do. I will keep this posting up to date as i progress. I'm new to this so please bare with me.
