Seminole Wind's Bio

Im currently studying to re-enter the trucking lifestyle after dropping my class A over 15 yrs ago. Its been 20+ yrs since Ive driven a truck, but to tell you the truth I have missed it. At the same time, sitting here I'm shaking in my shoes ! When I drove before. the trucking industry was NOT friendly for a female . . " I aint driving with no woman" is what I heard everyday & now I pray things have changed. Blessing & safe travels to everyone ! ! !

Werner Folks . .

Ok Ive been in contact with a Werner recruiter & shes telling me I can go thru orientation, but they may send me home because of the wait time. I was under the impression once I go thru orientation I was in their employ . . . wait to be assigned a trainer, go thru the driving test, physical, etc & now Im getting conflicting stories. Ive talked to a driver thats headed to Atlanta to pick up a trainee & was told theres almost a 2 month wait for trainers. Now I wont be ready to make the trip until I finish up my classes & graduate in April, but I dont want to be pushed by the way side nor NOT earning a check . . . May be go with another company, but there again getting on a trainers truck seems to be the trouble, but this could be any company. Or is there just a high rate of drivers being trained & ready & the companies are having a hard time keeping up. Sorry for kinda rambling but this is SO confusing . . . HELP please ?? confused.gif

APU units

APU is an Auxiliary Power Unit but as for an explanation of it . . . I know it powers other gadgets you may need/want in your truck instead of having to plug into a 12v power supply. Without it on your truck you will have to rely on 12v only gadgets.

Podcast: The Road Home - Do You Know Your Limits?

This comes in good time Brett. I was reading today that something you think isnt so severe ( A toothache) can threaten or even end your life. A truck driver died leaving 2 small children & wife behind because he thought he could push thru & handle a toothache. Which in turn, the infection spread to his lungs & took his life. . . Scary ! but food for thought.

Patrick I know its not a school bus, but do you have a regen system? (Exhaust filter) I know when my bus wont climb even the smallest of hills, I havta do an exhaust regen run. I may be WAY outta my league here but it might help . .
