Profile For RepoRider

I have been driving in the oil fields here in West Texas. I'm making great money but I really dislike living here. I have been looking at driving OTR, as I have $400 dollars a month in expenses per month (which is paid by another source of income) and everything I make will just go into savings. But I am having a hard time finding a decent company to work for. I have taken everyone's suggestion and have taken my time trying to find a good company that treats drivers well. However, every damn company has bad reviews, pays too low, or doesn't offer decent equipment for someone that plans on living in the truck for 8-10 weeks at a time. Any suggestions for a experienced driver looking to make the switch to OTR? Is there a perfect OTR company out there?

Used the knowledge I was taught back in my 2006 schooling and was able to obtain my CDL today. Close to perfect scores on my pre-trip and drive test....Ace'd my skills test with no deductions.

1st company I called was U.S. Xpress, however they only had open positions for team drivers in my state. 2nd company name escapes me, because they had no hubs even close to me. 3rd company was Swift, who meet all my requirements about rider policy, ect. So I got more info by Email. 4th company was Schneider (This is the school I attended in 2006). They said I would have to take a local refresher course which they would pay for but was good to go after that.

I'm still looking around, but that was the phone calls I made today.

I have called 3 companies so far, all of them with higher me with my class-A without recent schooling. I just have to complete 200 hours OTR with a trainer and they will not make me go through school again. So I guess there are options for me :-)

Ya, well my whole purpose was just hotshot at first, wasn't really even thinking of T/T when I started getting my license a few weeks ago. However, I was just wondering what my options would be that I had a unrestricted Class-A is all.

Yes, I have been in the repo business since I came back in 2006. The "rider" portion is motorcycle related.

I know that pintle hitch isn't common, but I'm just taking my test using that combo since I have it available so I don't have to rent a tractor/trailer. In my home state there are no license restriction for using that type of combination until the 9/29/16.

So you think that a OTR company is going to make me school again since I already posses the correct license and have already successfully passed an OTR school?

Can anyone tell me what is involved in the dot physical? Is it really involved, or do they just check basic fitness? Thanks

I just took mine 2 weeks ago... Basic range of movement, vision, hearing, colorblind tests.
