I'm a lady wanting to get into trucking. It'd be a great lifestyle for my husband and I. Not sure what else to write at this time. :-)

What parts of the High Road Training Program apply to the CDL permit?
Once you get your permit, is that the end of written tests? Is it all dealing with the truck and driving after that?

Amenities on truck - Cooking In Your Truck?
@guyjax I see what you're getting at, and I understand that. I guess it boils down to I'm a tightwad (LOL) and want to make sure I don't have to eat out all the time. I want to make sure it'd be worth it monetarily to even start trucking. Making my own food would really help here (not to mention keeping it much more healthy).

Flashing lights. (Not the evil blue and red ones...)
Ok, the reply makes me feel better! I like the OP's comment that "if they hit something, OR GET CANCER they can blame it on you...THat's seriously funny!

Thank you both very much. I'll check out the cooking thread for women. @Starcar what is an APU? DO you think the recruiter would steer me wrong as far as promising things?

Well, don't feel too bad...I'm just starting my studying process to go to school, but I'm not even sure that I know which ones are referred to as "marker" lights...Guess I really have a lot to learn!

For some reason, my computer isn't doing the new logout/login procedure. I'll log out, and I still have to log in manually like before. Not sure why this is occuring.

I'm not real familiar with how all this works, but it seems a lot of truckers that I've seen on youtube can cook thier own meals. I'm worried about speaking with recruiters about this topic for particular companies' rules about it, because I'm afraid they'll tell me something false to get me into the company. ANY information on this topic is great! Thank you.

Falling asleep at the wheel
It may sound odd, but try lemonjuice and water mixed...The large amount of vitamins and minerals will refresh and reenergize your body, while possibly the taste will keeps your eyes open for sure! LOL I know this since I've pulled lots of overnights at my job, but not trucking. I wouldn't offer the advice if I didn't think it'd help on the road, though. It also has longterm health benefits for the bonus. Plus, many people say they've been able to give up coffee in the mornings with it, where it perks you up so well. Let me know if you try it.
