Sir Victor II On The Web
Hi I am Victor Canfield II, I became infatuated with big trucks when I was eight to ten years young, and the first few times that I got to ride in either a Freightliner or Volvo Semi with my Uncle Bob who I got to go with him on a few trips while I lived out in Colorado. I have never lost my love for trucks and equipment from that time on. Since 3/02/2017 I have had my CDL and I started with Swift and have been with my current company for 2 years on June 6,2024. They were my 4th and I found a really good bunch to work with whether I am unloading cement or helping keep the landscape look good and working in the warehouse I found consistent reliability with them. I am definitely a family oriented guy, and if a owner op with paid off truck good family life style. I have had the chance to haul several types of freight from dry van, reefer, flatbed and cement pneumatic bulk tanks. I have driven the whole 48 states it is exciting and I'm now working to get into heavy haul and specialized transport!

I'm going to Kivi Bros. Trucking! So excited!
Okay so where do I begin? Well I shall begin at my drive out to orientation. It was short of hectic getting the rental car but I got a sporty Kia Forte and I liked it a ton! Took pictures of the scenery on the way and really enjoyed the drive.
Made a lot of new aquintances and lot of phone numbers from orientation. I was pretty happy with the majority of the presentation. I have done my first load which was mine castings. Only two.
Now I am hauling wood sidings. My truck full weight with full fuel is 75,360 lbs. On this load I have learned a few new things. Don't move your spread axles when loaded, make sure no winches are above a tire because it might look high enough but you are probably not thinking about when hitting a bump and don't be lazy just because you don't want to move a tarp a little ways off. That costs time and money. Also new thing I learned is some companies like to keep their tires after they're off. Hence why I have a tire on the rear of my trailer.
And the coolest thing I have experience is the hand of Father Yaweh making my choice of truck stop the perfect exit because I happily found a Loves truck stop where the TA that I planned to ask permission to fuel at was. So I got me fuel and a spot to stay at the TA down the road. Feels great! One thing I have learned is don't try and force a spot. Not a great idea. You might Jack knife and not be able to get out of it. I was blessed not to have that happen. I'll tell you what though the parking at Loves on exit 71 on I-84 in Connecticut is TIGHT! I am happy TA had parking..
I have been using the Cat Scale app and I'm impressed! I'll do my best to keep you updated!

I am so grateful that I found a angled spot that I could practice on and get parked in at TA' barely in Connecticut on Route 84. I was it took me a good 15 minutes to get it in without hitting anything but by golly and His Grace I did.

Well you got a lot more going on for you than we do. We have probably 10 to 15 chickens. We have a decent size garden and we added like 4 more high laying chick's.
Baaaa.....Oinkkkkk.....Mooooo, BK lol........
Yes, our pigs are 5 miles away at my hunnies parents land. They wanted to care for em, as well as the bull we bought last year. So far I've got around $1,200 in total invested in pigs, having the cement pen built by her brother, the septic, the 4 piglets, and the feed every 2-3 weeks. Paid 4,200 pesos(around $75 each piggie) should sell for around $250-275 each, by end of June. Labors cheap, from $6.81 for farm/building helpers, to $10.22 skilled laborers per DAY !! lol (I tip more sometimes of course)
Ya raise em 3-4 months and sell for lechon (coal roasted pig) Older they get, and bigger actually lowers the price per kilo, since they'd have lot more fat lol.....So @ around 150 lbs+ prime pork meat, time to sell, and buy 2 more for each 1 sold.
The bull, we re-invested the kids money from selling their carabao/water buffalo, be part of their college fund later. Besides the thing was being used by someone else, I sure ain't walkin' 1 those around hahaha or plowing any fields.
Our 10 chickens roam free, they're for our own use, hen's bout ready drop another 10-12 eggs soon lol
Now, the rainy season is back, and with a vengeance yesterday !

Okay now I am going to have to try it!
WOW ! Did I read that correctly ID Mtn Gal?? you like you some goat meat? Shocker, most Americans don't, they don't know what yumminess they're missing LOL
I found Mexicans can cook it the best for some reason. Had me many a goat taco,& goat meat growing up, going to Mexicali a lot. With our dad's,my buddy and our bro's went quite often for a time. His Granny had a ranch out in the country, we went out to grab a goat, to bring back to city to uncles to butcher and cook....I got that chore, wrangle up the goat, drag into the backseat of a 1969 Impala for the ride to the city, I was around 11 or 12, fun times.
We have a bull, and started with 4 piglets to raise and sell in 3 months, and rebuy more as these go bye bye to be roasted. Chickens roaming around, only thing we don't have is goats !! Others around us have those, so plenty of meat when they cook em up

Makes sense! I wonder if it's in Walmart, Big Lots or Lowes? I'll look at Aldi's too. Thanks!
Bk thank you! May I ask what brands of frying pan would you buy for on the road and how do you make sure that the frying pan doesn't tip over while driving? What utensils? Also what would you purchase that would be semi affordable to keep food cool in?
Slow cookers are good but tip over easier than the electric frying pan. The frying pan will slow cook just as well, so I only keep the one appliance since I find the frying pan the most versatile. Just throw some boneless chicken thighs or breasts in with a can of cream of celery soup, a can of cream of chicken soup, some frozen veggies, chopped onions, add some water and seasonings, put on low heat to get it to a boil for about 2 hours, then turn down the heat below boil and let it cook for hours while you drive. If you get tired of chicken, use pork instead. Easy Peasy.
Here is the electric skillet I use:
It sits on the top of the refrigerator cabinet in the recessed area. It may slide around a little bit on rough roads, but it has never bounced out of that recess.
I think the Father wants you to use one of these units. That’s why he sent me to you. God works in mysterious ways.

Truth! Very true!
Think about it Todd.. it is supply and demand. People are trying to spend less. So the cheap stuff is bought and the expensive stuff sits. The stores want limited supplies or the product goes bad.
When dollar stores are closing down.. you kmow it is bad.
And i myself have done some Youtube trucking freight videos with montages of other channels. It isn't good.
Trucking companies are closing.what makes us better than other resources? We tell the truth and can document what we are saying. We dont blow smoke at people to make ourselves feel better. We are the testimonials. None of us get paid to be here yet we are here for years and decades to help new people. They can use the information or not.. but at least we tried.

You are not kidding. I have said that companies are going to need to diversify into many different freight markets in order to stay afloat because of the economy for a month now and I suggested to my company about diversifying into heavy haul to get more income stream coming in, they didn't seem to think that was necessary but the plastics, cement, flatbed, lime has slown down a massive amount since 2022.
I use to be over at Shockeys Precast unloading up to 8 loads a day, usually ranging 5 to 7 loads a day.
Now, if I am called over then that's when I get over there to help with Shockeys but otherwise it's doing a lot of miscellaneous tasks from land maintenance, shop cleanliness to strapping loads when we are called.
Bidens rule is part of the problem the other is not forcing out drivers that are either unproductive or are not proficient in U.S.A. transportation directions and maps relying only on GPS. I honestly think Obama behind close doors is running the show. I don't think Biden has the consciousness to do it. Course that could just be me..lol.
The Internet is so full of things it's hard to get the facts separated from the myths.
