Two years since my last post. Ya'll think I'm ready now
How is everyone its been two years since I posted here. Last time I posted I was just getting my license back from a suspension Now that I have had my license back almost 3 years with no tickets no nothing. Clean as a whistle. I'm ready to start looking for a company that may give me a chance. Like I said in my last post. I have had some run in with the law but all that is over 11 years old. No felonies. Looking to find a company that will offer CDL training and give me a chance. My fear right now is quitting my job to go to a company that is going to say I'm good to go and when I get there decide they wanna change there mind. So if any of you guys can give me some pointers that would be great. I do have a seat schedule for Stevens transport in a few weeks recruiter ran fine background and mvr she spoke with her supervisor. And told me I was good. Should I take that as a yes or be wary.

Thanks for the reply.I figured it was going to be a task but im going to try to start looking for a school soon and after that like you said im going to start applying for crap load of companies someone will give me shot eventually
Welcome Thomas. The recent suspension is going to cause you as much grief as the old issues you have. Companies don't like to see any recent suspensions.
You're going to find companies that will give you a shot but it's going to be tough. You're going to have to do some digging. I'm not sure if any of the Paid CDL Training Programs will give you a shot or not. If not, you're going to have to pay to attend a Private Truck Driving School. Before you make any commitments to pay for a private school make sure you apply for a bunch of pre-hires. We have a lot of information on pre-hires and how they work:
- Article: Understanding Pre-Hire Letters: The What, Why, And How Of This Important Step
- Trucker's Wiki: "Pre-Hire Letters"
- Forum Topics Tagged "CDL Pre-Hire Letters"
Someone will give you a shot but it's not going to be easy. Go through our Truck Driver's Career Guide if you haven't already. It's loaded with tons and tons of awesome information.

Trying to get some helpful info here. I lost my license 2002 for not having insurance and unpaid tickets. throughout the 14 years of me not having license. yes 14 years NC add 3years every time you get stopped without a license.my dumb ass kept driving . but during the mean time i acquired a dui that is now over 5 years old also i have a felony that was dismissed in 2008. and several other misdemeanors on my record. but all my past history is over 7 and a half years old. i Recently got my license back and i was wondering if any of you guys know of any companies that would hire me with all that on me since its so old but the real question is there any companies that will take me being that i just got off a 14 year suspension

Yea I told them everything that I could remember. I let her know some of it the dates may not be correct. But that's from them being so old. But I did not lie about anything it's all over. I'm clean and clear so I hope they give me a chance.
