Suggestions Please

So, while I know that I'm the only to make this decision, I would like some input. I am currently working for a local drilling company making $20 an hour and occasionally getting anywhere between 10-20 hours of overtime per week. I am thinking of going back OTR with Prime because work is slowing down here because of the virus. Another reason to leave is the fact that we are planning a move in February or March of next year and would have to find a new job anyway. I guess I am second-guessing myself but would like input and what yall would do. Thanks!!

The OTR life and bug has gotten to me!

Trust me Brian, I know what you're talking about. I was with Prime a little over a year ago and had to leave due to back surgery. I've had a local job paying good money hourly for the last year. I have missed being on the road as well. I recently put my two weeks notice in and am going back to Prime next week. Like you, my kids are all older and my wife is very supportive of what I want to do. Making a change is sometimes great for your mental health!!

How is the freight??

Hey guys, I've been hearing that refrigerated freight is slow. Not sure if this is true. Just trying to get a feel on it and if it is slow when it may pick up. Heard from several Prime drivers that they have been waiting a while for loads, and the ones out there aren't paying that great

It's all about your attitude!!!

Hey guys. I am currently going through TNT with Prime and have logged a little over 15,000 miles so I'm half way there. My ex ppl experience with Prime has been exceptional. Before I came I was hesitant about the process and honestly didn't know if I could do it. I can say that it has been tough but not impossible. For those of you considering it, I say go for it. Keep a positive attitude through the process and realize it's only temporary. Keep your mind fresh and soak up every bit of knowledge your trainer offers. Remember as with anything in life, what you get out of it is what you put into it. Anything worth having doesn't come easy!! Thank you to so many of you in here that have helped me along the way!! God Bless and stay safe!!

Going to Prime!!!

After much thought and after being accepted to both Pride Transport and Prime Inc, I have decided to go to Prime. Hope I’m making the right decision but there were several little things that made a big difference. I will be going to Salt Lake on the 5th and will be posting my training updates along the way. Thank all of you for your input and help along the way!! Excited and nervous!!

Local vs OTR

Thanks for your reply. I’m happy with where I’m at however would love to get back on the road instead of driving the same route every day. Call me crazy but I like the open road. Lol

Local vs OTR

Hey folks. Just want your input. I am a local CDL Driver for a building supply company near Denver. I currently make $22.00 an hour. I like the job and often get more than 10 hours of overtime a week, however I miss being on the road. I am driving the same roads every day locally and thinking about going OTR. Am I crazy?? Just y’all thoughts on if I’d even be able to make close to that per week??
