I'm JohnnyT3's wife. He's not graduated yet but this is all new to him. I am 100% supportive of anything he decides to do. I guess you could say that I am responsible for his making this career change. I come from a strong family background of truckers (both grandfathers, my uncle and even my father for a short time) were all drivers and I have nothing but respect for all that truckers do and have to put up with. We are all excited (especially the kids) for this new adventure and chapter in our life to begin. So roll on through and thanks to all of you drivers and family of drivers out there!

From Trucking Wife to Trucking Wife
I am a mother and wife. My main goal here is to just connect with women (and men) in the same boat as me. For support for one another when our times get hard or if we're missing our trucker.

From Trucking Wife to Trucking Wife
Hello all! I am a wife of a man who has decided (with some guidance) that he needs a change of career and thus chose to become a trucker. I am just trying to get to know some other trucker's wives or long-time girlfriends to help me and our kids get through the tough times. And just some general conversation with women who understand what I will be going through, as the majority of my friends have told me that they think "I'm crazy" and that they "won't be able to relate."
I do come from a strong family background in the trucking industry, so I am already familiar with the sacrifice and stability of a spouse's role at home. But that doesn't mean that we don't have "weak" moments or need someone to have an open ear. So if you are someone who is looking for similar things, please leave your name or just give me a shout out!
Happy Trucking!

From Trucking Wife to Trucking Wife
My husband hasn't started his job yet. However when he does he will be away for 6 weeks or longer. He will be with Melton and they have a minimum two week hauls but we agreed that unless absolutely necessary he won't be away longer than 1 month at a time. We have three young boys, two from a previous. We've been married for 4 years this May. I know that with the technology it is better than it used to be. And yes, missing him physically will be something to get used to but I'm sure we will get by. :)
I do have girlfriends that are on board with making it a weekly ritual to get together with. So I will be trying to stay busy with that. Thanks for commenting. And good luck with getting back into your routine.
