After reading several CDL truck driving school comparisons and reviews on-line I am pleased to say that I just graduated from the Roadmaster Driving School in Orlando, Fl on Sept. 27, 2013. Although the school is a little expensive $$$, it was well worth it!!! Prior to attending their three-week program I had never been inside the cab of an 18-wheeler, much less double clutched any vehicle! Instructor Jim Brantley had me double clutching and down shifting by the end of the second day of road driving and when I needed some additional parallel parking training he worked with me on his own time. Jim and the other instructors (Jimmy, Bill, Richard, Al, Joe and Issac who is also the Director of Education), whom I had the pleasure of learning from, truly care and go the extra mile to insure you succeed in attaining your CDL. They all are more than willing to share their many personal years of trucking experiences & knowledge that will give you a view of the real trucking world if you ask, which I did! I can't thank them enough! Dawn, the school's Finance Manager, did an outstanding job of insuring the loan paperwork, job applications and job placements went through painlessly and in a timely manner. I would also like to mention that Lenny, a recruiter for Roadmaster did a great job of setting everything up and getting the "ball rolling" to attend their school. In three short weeks I was able to straight back, off-set back, and parallel park a tractor trailer and then pass the road test. Now I'm off to Werner Trucking to start my new trucking career at age 50.
