Quitting my job to attend cdl training full time

I plan on going trucking as soon as i finish school. The few months after the school I am referring to, would be trying to find a job. But from what I have read and research I have done, it wont be much of a problem finding a job. But I know some companies won't hire me for whatever reason.

I should mention that I am not married nor do I have any kids and that I don't have any big bills.

Quitting my job to attend cdl training full time

The cdl school I am looking at going to only offers full time classes right now that take 4 weeks to complete. Would it be a bad idea to quit my job to attend school. I have more than enough money saved to pay for the school and to support myself for probably 4 to 5 months before I would need to get a job. I am mostly concerned about what trucking companies will have to say about me being unemployed for a few months.

Private cdl training

I found a private cdl school near where i live, but i cannot find any information good or bad about them. I want some advice on what i can do to find out if this is somewhere i should get my cdl from. Or do i just take a chance with them? Any advice, would be much appreciated!

Questions about home time for otr, regional and dedicated.

Thanks guys. As far as OTR when you request home time do they try to get you home on weekends for your HT or could it be during the week?

Questions about home time for otr, regional and dedicated.

Okay first question. For most otr companies you get 1 day off for every 7 days you are out. When it says you get 1 day of hometime are they saying a full 24, hours or what? Also on regional and dedicated and runs, the home time on weekends is it a, full weekend or a partial weekend? Like will you arrive home friday evening or friday night and then leave out at noon sunday or leave out late sunday evening or night or early monday morning? How does this typically work? Thanks!

Just submitted my application to Millis trucking school

Well I called Millis today just to make sure they received my application, I was told that turned it down because they had better applications, when I asked asked what that meant never got a straight answer. That door didn't just shut it got slammed. Needless to say a little discouraged. I applied to Driver Solutions. Anyone had any experience with them. TT says it is a good way to start your career. When you Google seems to be quite a bit of complaints. Ant advice would be greatly appreciated.

This has got me concerned, that I may be turned down as well. I wonder what the reason was they turned you down so quickly for? I have been looking into Millis quite a bit. I haven't read a single thing bad about the company.

Does anyone have any information on Millis Transfer?

I've seen a few of their trucks out here too. So I know they do come out this far on occasion. So keep us in the loop, its a company that we really don't have anyone who's gone thru the school, that i"ve heard of. GOOD LUCK !!

I will keep you guys in the loop, If I decide to go with them. I am still undecided on getting into the trucking industry. Do I want to do it or not. Some days I do, Other days I don't lol. I don't know!
