Misdemeanor possession of marijuana less than an ounce charge

Im getting ready to start truck driving school and I was talking to a recruiter from swift and when I told her I have a possession of marijuana from 2008 she denied me. Am I going to have this problem with every recruiter I talk to can someone give me some feedback before I start school I dont want this to be a waste of time.
