Has anyone heard of this happening?
Hey guys, so a few months back I went through Prime Inc and got into PSD and after 2 weeks I ended up having a lot of family issues and my mom was diagnosed in Stage 3 and basically **** hit the fan, I voluntarily got off my trainers truck and grabbed a flight back to Salt Lake where I live and have since been out of commission.
Well apparently I got locked into contract and I thought I left within the timeframe but I messed up and was 2 days late, so a guy called and said hey what's up, pay the contract basically or you're re-hirable and we'd love to take you back, i got great feedback from the trainer and had 0 issues on the road, talked to the Driver manager my trainer was with and my trainer and he wants me back in his truck and the driver manager said he'd put in the approval for rehire and all looked well for me to restart so I can fulfill the contract.
Well I reapplied, recruiter said sweet let me submit a rehire poll and you should be good. Well I found out today that I'm ineligible for rehire, even though the guy pushing me about my contract says he's never looked at a driver profile with comments this good and I'm listed as re-hireable and under contract and his mind is blown.
Driver manager says it makes no sense and his mind is blown and is going to look into it. But I'm under contract why would they not not allow me to come back and drive even though the DM and the office guy say it says I'm able to? Apparently the recruiter says I need 6 months OTR then I can reapply. I asked for a copy of my contract to look at it but it makes no sense to me. Thoughts?

Going from bus driver to truck driver?
Yeah it's scary leaving the pension behind. That and the medical(free prescriptions and doctors cuz UTA had their own that are very very qualified) was an issue but I've since come to terms, I will say that after having left Salt Lake with the trainer and driving to twin falls where we are now loading was amazing, I very much so enjoyed it. Like it was just awesome. I already think I enjoy it more than driving my bus and driving the bus the most fun I've ever had. So I'll keep you updated and bump the post from time to time to let you know where I'm at. Prime seems to be fantastic, and my trainer is sick. We get along great.

Going from bus driver to truck driver?
Sounds like I just left the same city as you driving a bus, I am in the PSD phase through Prime, truck is down so we haven't actually left yet but I just left a city bus job with UTA out of SLC, I was nervous as hell leaving what I had and my seniority in the board but so far this looks like it will go well. I'm not sure of long term outcomes as I understand there are variables everywhere you turn your head but from what I'm gathering I will make about the same as I did on my bus if not more this first year. So we'll see. I'll let you know what happens for me this next few weeks and/or months as I'm now locked in and left my job and if you haven't left the bus hopefully what I find can help cuz literally I just did last week what you're talking about doing. Still scares the hell out of me though.

New here and Made the decision!
Oh man I didn't even think about using my W2! That's an awesome idea I will definitely take that in to orientation with me if they end up not communicating over the phone. As for the links I've probably read and re read them twice or more I'm really looking forward to this! That super makes me feel better about this situation thanks for the replies! I'll let you know what happens through orientation and keep updates through training! Hopeful this works out

New here and Made the decision!
Hey everybody I'm new! Been reading and stalking a lot of the forum discussions lately, I'm a bus Operator in public transit in Salt Lake City, always wanted to drive a truck and recently applied and will start orientation with Prime in SLC this next Tuesday, I'm super excited! I'm 25, single, bounced around a lot and love driving the bus, so much I'm nervous cuz I'm about to lose seniority and a awesome paying job with awesome pension and etc, so my question is this, I'm super scared now cuz I got a call from the recruiter, they tried to verify one of my past employers from over a year ago and the manager currently there said they have no idea who I am, fair enough, cuz it's a small family owned gas station and she wasn't managing at the time and actually ended up quitting the station right after I was hired and then came and managed after I left, AND the kicker, I go by a nickname that's not my actual name... so verify says my name, off the top of her head she didn't make the connection and now it's stuck with a bunch of phone tag and she can't get through to the verifier, left messages and when the verifier has called she's not at the station and it's a massive pain. So I'm hoping this minor problem will get fixed, they'll communicate and then we're good. I feel like this looks bad though and is an issue, thoughts? Thoughts on Prime? Thoughts on wether or not I'll enjoy it? I just wanna cruise and see the 48 and make some money. Don't care where I go what I do or how long I'm gone as I plan on giving my apartment up cuz I really don't have family or anything holding me anywhere to begin with. Novel is done.

Acceptable to Ask the Yard Dog?
Hello it’s been awhile since I’ve posted.
Delivered to Mclane in Lakewood Washington. Quarters were tight. That’s an understatement. It’s almost impossible to get the trailer in a dock with trucks on both sides of you already docked. Grateful I had a wide open spot and was early, 2 spots open to my left and then another truck, just watched a guy put his trailer in one of those 2 spots and it was 15 pull-ups and he hit the barrier swinging his front end around. Again grateful it was wide open for me to dock and it’s now filling up and I’m uncomfortable pulling out with a truck now on my right side. My question now.
Is it ever acceptable in this kind of situation, to ask the yard dog to dock the trailer. A couple of us drivers here are thinking of disconnecting when the next guy is assigned a dock next to us. Would a yard dog ever dock the trailer or is it out of the question.
