Lanter Delivery Systems

I work on a dedicated account with Schneider, and we just lost the account. We all got a mass layoff letter and so many of us are scrambling to figure out where to go to next. The company that is taking over the contract is called Lanter Delivery Systems and some of us are hoping to retain our positions with the account. Unfortunately, I know nothing about this company, and reviews from a driver perspective is scarce. I was wondering if anyone on here knew about them?

How to stay the heck awake??!!

I appreciate everyone's input. I'm usually driving overnight and returning in early morning hours. I usually run a load out from 11:00-12:00 pm and then headed back around 5-6 am. I usually get back 10-11. Sometimes I have to team drive and it will take most of my hours to get there. Then I will sleep while we get back with an empty. I'm in a utility position, so it varies with what I'm doing that day. My company doesn't allow us to split our 10 hour, plus that would be really hard while teaming.

As for my sleep, I don't seem to be able to sleep straight more than 6 hours.... I'm not sure why. I've been averaging 4-6. I've been going home to sleep lately, so sleeping in the truck isn't the issue.

How to stay the heck awake??!!

I'm new to trucking, I'm running a dedicated route. I've only been driving 2 months, so I'm really green.

I don't mind the job, I'm getting used to it and I'm home every weekend. I'm just noticing that I am getting REALLY tired behind the wheel every few hours and it really affects my driving.

I've tried several things to keep awake. Music, podcasts, strong dark tea (not a coffee drinker) and as of late, slapping myself... Wish I was kidding. Given that I'm doing dedicated, I can't just stop and rest. We're on tight schedules and we mostly do delivery type routes.

What are somethings you guys do to stay awake behind the wheel?
