Beach Bummed! Beach Access??

Find a place to park and call a Lyft. FL is actually very roomy. In fact, I took my bobtail to NASA Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral and I also took it to Disneyworld!

+1 for lyft/uber. I was watching a youtuber the other day who dropped his trailer and BTed to the beach..

Thank for the replies! May have to drop when empty tomorrow and Bob down just for a little while. Hate to come all this way and not experience the Beach a little. If any other replies, They are appreciated.

Idle Shutoff Override? 2017 Freight Cascadia

I'm gonna be in a rental for few days next week. It's a 2017 Freightliner Cascadia. It doesn't have an APU, so will have to idle unfortunately. Anyone had to override the engine idle shutoff on one of these? I've already asked to see if it has the Smart Idle or whatever, which will allow the engine to start itself when needed as an APU would. It doesn't. Gonna miss my APU for that time for sure.

Beach Bummed! Beach Access??

I have a delivery tomorrow on Fort Myers, FL. With a little time to kill, I was hoping to see the beach. Being in a 18 Wheeler is proving challenging. Anyone ever accomplished this and how? I'm at the 139 off I75 scratching my head as we speak. Thanks for any help.

Background Worries

First, I would talk to a different attorney and see if you can get that expunged. You should not have a problem with most companies. Most companies have the information on their websites as to driver qualifications. Just be honest on your application and if there is room to explain, do so. Also, contact a recruiter for that company and ask them. Just be honest with them. You can also use this, Apply For Truck Driving Jobs, and send out an application to every company in one shot. Good luck.

I think I would have found a different attorney. Youch. But yeah, just be honest about it. I don't think it will cause too many problems. Some companies might say no, but I'd bet many would give you a yes.

Thank you all for the positive replies. The only way I know to be is honest. The Good Lord will work it out. I jus really need to be working and looking forward to driving and doing my best for myself and family. Be safe out there!

Background Worries

How long ago did it happen? Time seems to heal most issues, there are folks who have been convicted for murder, done their time, and are out motoring today.

It was a misdemeanor and happened in 09/2015. $7.69 not scanning cost me $1100 in probation, 20 hrs of community service and of course they let me pay for the item after all that. And now I feel labeled and ruined. I realize I'm speaking out of fear and not knowing how this company will view this. I really want this job I have applied for. I've been up front about it. Just worried. I graduated 2 weeks ago. I need to be driving and providing for my family.

Background Worries

I recently graduated and obtained my CDL. Not bragging but was top of my class for what it's worth. That said, I have an issue in my background pertaining to an overzealous WM associate and a self checkout that failed to scan a pack of $7.69 chicken and ended up getting me a shoplifting charge on my background. I'm worried this will affect me getting a good driving job on top of being very embarrassing. Anyone else have a small misdemeanor but had success? My MVR and everything else is fine. I'm sure I will be a good driver. Just worried about this haunting me forever. Thanks for any advise. Quite depressed at this point.

If it's a misdemeanor you shouldn't have much to worry about. Felonies are usually what causes the most trouble. However, a felony doesn't necessarily disqualify you from getting a job either. It depends on the charge, how long ago it was, and what the company determines as being a risk for pre-hire. If you're that worried about it, you should research second chance companies and apply to as many as possible. Good luck

It was a situation where an item didn't scan and I thought it did, as well as no error message when bagged. So the weight checker didn't say anything to the contrary in a self checkout at the super store we all love (WM). My attorney advised me it would be simpler to plead guilty than fight big supermarket. It's just very embarrassing to have it on my record and be labeled "shoplifting" when it was not intentional. Just very afraid I worked so hard to become a good driver up to this point and have my future impacted. I no longer use self checkouts. Thanks for your advise.
