Parking for the night to sleep (or during the day )

Where can a trucker with trailer park for sleep/ break / etc ? I have seen some say it's ok to park on an exit ramp . I have also seen it stated that you can park at a warehouse. I am confused as to where a drive with or without her/his trailer can park, please help explain... thx , Arifani

Double log books

I was wondering if double log books is still a big thing ? I have talked with a trucker who owns his own truck and he has said the only way to make money is to run with dual log books. it is a bit in- nerving to here that you have to work past your legal hours. Is this just one bad apple or is this the way it really is ?

Time on the road

I was wondering if there are truckers out there that basically gave up on home life and just stayed out on the road ? Staying in hotels , etc.

The actual tools a driver needs to carry on the truck

I was wondering if some of the experts here could list out the tools a driver needs to carry in order to be prepared for emergencies out on the road. I think this wisdom would certainly be appreciated by all. I hope to hear from some of the driving greats we have here. Thanks Arifani

Need advice about Marijuana testing for CDL drivers

I am amazed that this thread went on for 7 pages ! I would have thought it would've been a one and done ! This thread belongs in High Times magazine not in a trucking site since smoking weed can't be done and leave the driver in a safe position.

I am thinking about getting a DOT physical done with a doctor I know. If I pass I will take the next step , if I fail then I will find out why and find a solution. After a passing DOT I think I'll have more confidence to really get the ball rolling. Does this make sense ? I appreciate the feedback. thanks , Luke

Thanks for all the info ! Do you think I should just be straight with the recruiter and tell them I've been disabled ? I really want to get off disability give up the disability checks and get out there and earn a paycheck. I've been studying the trucking field for a long time and really look forward to getting out on the road.
