They will only need to verify your employment for the past three years. Once you've driven a truck professionally then by law they have to verify your employment, or your whereabouts, for the past 10 years.
What if you've driven buses with a B Class?

How many questions are on the cdl permit test?
I took my test in Ohio today but only upgrading from B Class. Combination, Tanker, and Doubles/Triples were 20 questions each. You had to get 16 right to pass. Can't speak on Haz-Mat yet. Thought I'd study a bit more first...

2 truck driving job offers from TransAm and May Trucking?
And I'd still like to see what you were talking about the 4 weeks of training. Please, prove me wrong. I would be so happy if they changed their training program. 11 days is not nearly enough training in my opinion.
It has not changed. I thought it ironic that I was looking at THIS thread and decided to go grab the mail from the box. What did I find? My conditional employment offer as a STUDENT DRIVER! When I read it, I thought, they must think I'm an experienced driver. I re-read it two more times and it appears that 17 days (3 days Orientation +3 days Training & Development +11 days OTR = 17) is the TOTAL length of the training. I have my B Class, and have driven school and charter buses, but this is a large, heavy, pivoting vehicle! Seems scary (to train for such a short time) but at the same time exhilarating! Am I crazy? I would imagine the training could last for 12-16 hrs to fit it all in. Chickie Monster please tell me thats the case. And if you wanted more time why did they end it after 7 days? Next stop... Chickie Monster's training diary lol.

Animal lovers kill me. I dont purposely want to kill anything, but if it crosses the road, its going to meet its death..not me.
I haven't started my trucking career YET. I'm a new "empty nester" and can't wait! I've long known that I have to change my stance on animals while driving that big rig... I'm the type to slow/stop for squirrels, cats, dogs, kids. You name it. What can I say? If God created it, I love it! This comment made me laugh (mostly at myself), but it's most definitely the truth.

CDL Permit question
Agreed Old School. I just like to think that I'm smart! LOL but High Road is the TRUTH! See what I did there? Seriously I ran thru Combination, Double/Triple, and Tanker in less than 15 minutes and passed all three. Missed 2 on combinations. One was a bonehead mistake. When they showed me the wrong answer, I said to myself, "I didn't choose that answer". Well obviously my mind didn't but my body did, so like Old School said take it slow and re-read if necessary. I saw plenty of questions where they purposefully try to trick you. Follow his tip: The 1 I missed even though I didn't know the answer (THOUGHT I did), I didn't have to miss. Should have just skipped it and answered the others. If you are not 101% sure then save it till the end. If you know your stuff, chances are you won't see that one again (Test shuts off after you attain the necessary number to pass).
My take on why this method works so well is the review questions thrown in from other chapters. You'll be saying to yourself, "Not this question again", but in the end the answers on the real test will almost seem highlighted.
Obviously, impressed with how well and how fast I finished, the guy tried to talk me into giving HAZMAT a try. I had told him that I only LOOKED at all of that info 1 time and wanted to study more. He told me to try it anyway since I was there.. Nope, sorry buddy. Just my luck I WOULDA passed, then had no reason to make sure I KNOW my stuff instead of guessing at it. To me seems like a false sense of security considering we're talking HAZMAT. Good Luck Everybody!
