I appreciate this post in gearing me mentally for whats to come for my 3 week training

I want to start out by thanking Truckingtruth.com first and foremost for all the help and valuable information that you guys have put on this site, with that being said let me tell you how the notion of becoming a truck driver came to spark. I was born and raised in New Jersey I'm currently 25 years young and about to start my CDL Training on 8/28/17 I will be joining P.A.M Transport to get this career of mine rolling. I never really was a 'College" student I went into it and only lasted 2 years then I dropped out in 2012 to focus on working which I definitely did I landed a job as a dishwasher in a well known hotel that goes by the name of Sheraton.

Fast forward to 2015 and your boy went from a dishwasher to a Sous Chef (for those who don't understand culinary lingo out there i was the second in command in the kitchen) I did all of this without attending a 4 year culinary college and I did it all by watching and learning the guys who have been cooking for 15+ years of course i also had other job in between but at that time cooking was something I "liked" all said in done in 2016 i resigned because I was fed up with being stuck in a kitchen making meals for people who i never even met and also working another job to keep up with my now default student loans. So what did I do next well NOW I'm currently working at a Security Service company and although this job does have its perks i can assure you its just another job where the routines become more of a ritualistic and non exciting repetition of writing reports and dealing with obnoxious and self centered people who come and take out there anger on you which they have built inside since the moment they walked into there 9 to 5 job that very same morning.

Thus leading to my reinvention once again, now i have decided to join most of you on the black top and this time i couldn't be more thrilled, nervous, anxious and just glad that PAM has giving me an opportunity to prove myself. Like i said I never was "College" student but one thing I am good it is learning by hands on experience and by testing my wits and my mettle and I am more than confident that come 6 months time I will be in complete control of a tractor-trailer. I am going to keep on updating this once I begin my CDL Training in a couple days time simply because I want to look back on this and remind myself why I decided to become a TRUCK DRIVER
