I am 50 years old and I am new to truck driving. Just finished school and getting ready to start training with a company. I live with my partner Ray. Between us we have 6 Children and 13 Grandchildren. I have worked so many different jobs that it would take to long to list them all and all the different categories they fall into. I am starting a trucking career at this stage in life because I can. I love challenges and it certainly sounds like it pays better than any job I've ever had. I don't consider this a way to get rich but I would like to be able to pay the bills. I really hate these about me things. I never know what to say.

Good Cell Phone Companies to use OTR?
Thanks everyone for the Great Advice. I'm going to listen to Pete B. right now and keep my Straight Talk phone. We can't afford a change at this time anyway. I'm not a real tech savvy person and have no idea what all uses data. I use my phone mainly for texting and talking anyway. I have no clue as to video calls. My daughter called me that way only once. I'm surprised I even figured out how to answer it. Lol. Anything requiring internet I prefer to use my iPad. Hope you all stay safe out there. I'll hopefully be joining you out there with a Trainer Dec. 18.

Jim Palmer's CDL Program
I had the same thing happen to me with JIm Palmer. I went through 2 interviews and had a definite start date of Dec. 18th. I was then told they were sorry they had more qualified applicants. This completely baffled me when they were so impressed with my high scores. I don't hold a grudge against them either I have just moved on.
I am Very Thankful for all the advice on this site. I had several other options I could go with. I will admit with all the applications I filled out and all of the companies interested it was a difficult decision to decide the top companies I liked. I feel very good about my decision to join Butler Transport out of Kansas City, Kansas. Even better they are only 3 hrs from my home.
