Don't fear the Dot physical...

Went in to get my DOT physical, found out I have high blood pressure! Not a big deal...other than High BP is considered the silent killer! So I'm very glad that this was a requirement..cuz I feel fine I have no symptoms, and would not have gone in to see a Doc. Since my school doesn't start until the first of the year(want to stay home for the Holiday's) I have time to get on some meds, and get this under control. My Doc assures me that this will not be a problem,as I have no other health issues, we'll get it under control and get the Dot done before school starts!

How is mileage figured?

Are you payed for the actual miles you drive, or some other system, chart etc.?

Be sure to read your State Manual before taking the written test.

It's a good thing I decided to switch from the High road CDL training program to my States (WA) Cdl Manual. Some of the obvious differences that could have failed me. The high road..Perception distance 3/4 sec. 60'. Reaction distance 3/4 sec. 60'. Braking distance 170'. Total 290'. WA state manual...Perception distance 1 3/4 sec 142'. Reaction distance 61'. Braking distance 216'. Total effective stopping distance 419' (everything at 55mph) The Highg Road...Max height of a rig 13'6"...Wa state 14'. These are just some of the many diffferences.
