Great job! 👍 I went and renewed mine last month, did drug tests last week, and a hazmat background check. Tomorrow morning I have my test at dmv for hazmat too. This may be hinting at something…🤔

The verdict is in……. 110 years concurrent life sentences
Anne, my grandmother only spoke Italian. She wasn’t a citizen and never learned English. My grandfather spoke enough English to get by and worked for the railroad. My grandmother was stuck in the house every day unless someone could go with her to translate, so I understand what you’re saying. Everyone else in the family learned English. If I ever went to Italy I’d like to learn more than curses in Italian. I think hearing more that in this case this bad driver was using language as another excuse. I don’t see how it played a part in this instance.

Nobody should get a license, CDL or otherwise without having English language skills. Maybe get rid of the press one for English on phones and work from there. Most American families were immigrants, very few of those came from England and we all managed to learn it.

Congratulations! 🎉 I really want to get out of NJ myself. Looking further south though, maybe Florida.

Portland has been declared a riot, but then they just look for excuses. I still remember watching Reginald Denny being torn from his truck and beaten. I would refuse to go any place that was sketchy, hopefully most companies would understand that.Stay safe out there!

I worked at Schneider and I had an APU. Who says they don’t have APU’s? As far as boots go, mine were never uncomfortable. Of course, I’m old school so I believe I’m wearing the proper gear for your job.

RVer Fueling in the truck lanes question.
I went to dispatching, then my company lost our Amazon contract and we went to FedEx. I became asst. Site manager and delivery driver over the last Christmas season. Then, my company lost that site, and I was laid off. So I collected unemployment for a little while. I'm looking for a gig right now. Had a job offer that I won't get into unless I decide to go for it. Like I said, I'm nervous that my kidney stone issue will return and I don't want to go somewhere and have to quit. I have a physical scheduled next month and I'm supposed to get some tests that might determine if I drive again. Thanks for asking.

RVer Fueling in the truck lanes question.
Laura, that's what usually happens. I extremely rarely ever pull in and there's not a truck in front of me. I do run into the bathroom at that time usually. Of course, I've been driving my couch since January anyway since my company lost our contract. Been waiting for them to get their act together and collecting unemployment for a while. I have a job offer I'm considering now. Came out of the blue so I'm hoping my kidney stone issue is resolved right now.

What would you do?
This is a problem that’s universal in trucking. We’re not robots who can turn ourselves off when we’re not driving. That’s what companies would like it seems, and that’s what they’re working towards. Before we’re replaced by self driving rigs, we have to live our lives too. I’m glad they listened to you. Everyone needs to let management know when there’s a problem or don’t be surprised when it keeps happening.
