Hey guys, new update... 3 days ago hubby tells me his stomach was hurting...I figured it was gas and told him to walk around... He calls back saying walking around hurt too bad and he was headed to bed... I get a text at 11:30 the next morning from him saying "I'm in the hospital ER"... I'm like WHAT ??? FOR REAL ??? A text at 12:00 saying, I'm headed to CT scan, possibly kidney stones, I'll keep you posted... By this time I'm like WTH, you're going to get a CT SCAN (I used to work in surgery so I kinda know about this hospital stuff)... At 12:20 I get the following... I have to have surgery...I'm like HOLD UP...Don't you dare go anywhere... In the span of an hour, you text me saying you're in the ER and now you have to have surgery what the hell is going on ?? He text, it looks like my Appendix is bad so I have to stay for surgery...I said...Oh wow...But they are going to feed me the nurse said...So I'm thinking ok...If they are going to feed him then surgery would have to be for next day...Then I get a text at 1:19 that says "I'm going into surgery now and have to turn my phone off...I'm texting all caps WAIT WHAT, NOW ?? he text Calls Dad and give everyone an update...Hell, I couldn't give anyone an update because I'd never even given them a current...LOL They couldn't wait to do the surgery..His appendix was seriously inflamed...Surgery went fine...Dr said that if he'd not come in when he did his appendix would have ruptured and things would have been worse..He was back at the hotel the next day..This kinda puts a dent in his pretesting..He was supposed to pretest on the 27th and test on the 3rd.. So now he has to come home and recoup for about a week go for his follow up Dr's appointment..Then he goes back to 2 week for like a refresher, then he moves up to week 3 to where he is now and just test out... They have been really great about everything... He's been bummed this was not in the cards for sure... They were shocked that he actually drove , did the pre trip and all that other stuff that morning before he had his trainer take him to the Er..

Last, I posted was the Hubby had decided to change schools... So I thought I'd give everyone a little update on how things are going... He is in Gary, Indiana at Roehl... He decided to go for his CDL Flatbed OTR ... He started last Monday and things are going really well...He is loving it and really likes the people there and his instructor... The process to get there was good except the 24hr bus ride sucked...The recruiter was wonderful...I have to admit he tells me what exactly he is doing and I wanted to remember so I could tell y'all but it goes over my head, kinda like me talking to him about computers...He is getting great joy over that part...He secretly all these years does this invisible eye roll when I get to talking to him about computers and he patiently listens...So while he talks to me about all this trucking stuff I don't have to invisibly hide my eye rolls since he's on the phone (LOL) but I listen as he does me... giggle... Anything after the word computer and he's off thinking about something else I'm sure... For me anything after the word driving I'm lost, I try to keep up but this girl is lost...Maybe the data is being stored in the cloud somewhere and needs to be rebooted to catch up or something..LOL But I do know that things are going great..On his 3rd day he was practicing backing up or parallel parking I can't remember which now and the heads of Roehl were there walking around and whatnot...They watched Eugene do his thing and was impressed...While he was in class his instructor James calls him out...It seemed these people from Roehl wanted to meet him...They thought he was in his 3rd week of training, he said no he was only on his 3rd day and they were quite surprised...Come to find out they were there making a training video and they ask him to be in it...So he got to spend the afternoon with these people making this training video... He said they even had extra shirts for him to change into..lol He's been doing a lot of studying and working hard...He said it is very hot...I told him I was going to write y'all with an update, he told me to tell y'all something about what he was doing but I've got to be honest it was trucking related terminology and I really don't remember what it was he said...So this is the best I've got for now... LOL :)

Thank you all for replying... I could be slightly off on the total amount... After further checking I'm getting around 7K , but not sure if that includes interest over the course of the loan... That's still a nice chunk of money though... He's off taking his permit test right now... He's stressing that he has to call the recruiter right after the test...I told him I'm sure she isn't glued to the phone waiting for his call... My husband is a stand-up guy who likes to do the right thing... He values keeping his word and all that good stuff...So for him not to call her right back goes against who he is...lol But, she can wait because we have a serious decision to make... He hasn't signed any contracts or anything and no tickets have been purchased to get him anywhere... But I have to be honest I'm not comfortable with him signing on with this company... I will support him on anything he wants to do but when I have this knot in the pit of my stomach with this fear of dread, I'm like UGH...I think it is a seriously wrong move...Now it may be things would be ok, but the odds I'm reading do not look good...I have no problem with him going to a school at all...Just not this one...Let's pick another one...I'm ok with being by myself while he is away and taking care of our animals and the house etc... I'm not some young girl who has to be by her husband 24/7...lol I want him to live his dream for himself and us...If it works that is great...If not, life goes on...I own the house we live in so we have no mortgage, but we do have a new car payment and other bills that have to be paid and pets to feed...As long as that gets covered, I'm good...I think one of the things that I had read that has bothered me is some people didn't get paid for a month... And some their pay was even as low as 25$ a week... I understand the variables in pay etc but Lordy how can someone support their family plus eat themselves on the road at that pay... Update while I've been typing...He got his permit...He will be signing in later to comment with his own worries etc... Thank you all for taking the time to read and post and being here for us...It really means a lot, and we are reading everything that is posted and researching the links... :)

My husband is due to go to a CDL school next week so I decided to do some reading on that school and I must say the reviews I found online have been very unsettling...I understand that with any school/company there will be pros and cons but the amount of negativity and reports to the BBB have got me seriously worried...$12 grand after interest is serious business to pay off if things go south...He is making a career change from management to truck driving and I will support him in whatever decision he makes... But now neither of us are sure about this particular school...I voiced my concerns about this school to him tonight and told him I'm fine with him going to school for OTR driving but I have reservations about this particular school...I told him I was going to write on the forum and ask for suggestions as to what schools y'all think would be a good choice...Pay to train type things... I've read about Prime, Roehl... He is due to get his CDL permit tomorrow... Thank you...
