I obtained my first US Class A commercial license in 1976 while serving as a US Marine in California. I drove a 10 speed amphibious tractor w short trailer designed for jungles of 'Nam, known as a Gamma Goat. my first civilian job as a driver I worked for a company known as "WD Bingham" out of Huntington Beach, California on a daily route to Santa Barbara, Ca. It was 1980, "CDL" was not in existence. I drove an International Transtar 3000 Cabover with 5x2 split shift. My load was "infectious waste". Some memorable stops were, Cedar Saini Hospital in LA, the Hollywood Celebrities Rest Home, and Ventura county coroner office. I drove here for a couple years and with birth of my first child became a certified auto tech. working in Long Beach and Anaheim,Ca. I moved back to Sacramento, Ca., my home town in the '90's and worked at several towing companies with AAA contracts. I operated sling, wheel lift, and flatbed, and low boy obtaining a Class B Cdl. I towed for about 6 yrs then did a one year stint as a Taxi-lease driver. I relocated to Oklahoma in 2000 and finally realized my dream of driving OTR with John Christener Trucking out of Kellyville, Ok, That was the hometown of my parents and 3 prior generations on both sides, before the migration to California, where I was born. I attended Central Truck Driving Shool-.vo tech in Drumright, Ok sponsored by JCT. I was a JCT solo driver nr 4yrs, then spent a couple years with Sysco foodservice. A DUI in my car, off duty, put me out of commercial driving in 2006. I got sober and spent 7 yrs learning to remodel houses and working at an automotive salvage yard. in late 2013 I returned to Swift Driving academy in Corsicana, Tx. I began OTR training in Jan 2014 and became a solo driver OTR. as of Sept 2015 I have left Swift for PAM transport. I am interested in becoming a small business operator, lease or owner. I like the new E logs, much easier, less hassle, always legal, yet does require better trip planning.

Problems controlling the tractor trailer
yes I mark an imaginary visual spot on the right side of the hood that intersects the white line when i'm properly in lane, Then use that as a reference point to guide, of course constantly scanning mirrors to assure position.
