Crete transportation Costco Dedicated Account (Florida)
Mind if I ask, how long you’ve been with Crete and are the miles there?. For dedicated accounts I mean?
I’ve been here for about 5 years in 2 days. I’ve been dedicated majority of that time. I’d say the miles are there if you’re easy to work with and want to run. I’ve never had many problems here.
Currently I run dedicated out of a Walmart DC in North Platte, NE and run around 3000-3200 miles a week.

I drive for Crete Carrier, this is a new account so not much information is available but here is the listing on the website: https://cretecarrier.com/company-driver/florida-driving-jobs/
I’d imagine it’d be like the Walmart account I pickup at, you’ll pickup a load at the DC, delivery to the stores on that route, probably just have to go inside and verify the pallets they’re getting off the trailer, rinse and repeat until empty where you’ll drive back to the DC empty.

Hi Jamie. I spent most the summer in the south in 100+ degree weather. Bring on winter! 😁
Hopefully it's not to bad for you! NE can have some pretty bad days, but over all it's not to bad. Lucky Crete pays for us to shutdown, so it's even better. :D
Hey Jamie, good to see you. Thanks for stopping in, It's been a minute. Glad to hear things are still going well for you.
Thank you! It's crazy how long I've been on here although I haven't been very active in the past two years. But I support what you guys do.
Glad everything is going well for you.
Thank you! How have you been? been following your story for awhile now. :D

What is a better company for a beginner
I got my start at Schneider, that was around 6 years ago but they had a great but fast pace training program. They were forgiving for all my rookie mistakes while I was there. So I can recommend them. But remember my experience is from 6 years ago, so I don’t know if things have changed since then.

I forgot to include I run meat and produce over night for Walmart for anyone that might be interested. Im off for a reset weekly with the occasional extra day off if I need one. I’ve taken 4 weeks of vacation this year as well, so that’s excluded in the mileage I listed above.

Hey everyone! Hopefully all is well with you all. As many might know, I’ve been around here for awhile now and it’s wild as the years have psssed so quickly I’m coming up on my 5th year with Crete Carrier in less then two weeks. So figured I’d make a post here checking up on everyone!
Nothing much has changed since my last visit, besides I’ve been home daily this entire year running dedicated for Walmart in North Platte, NE. I guess the other big news is my wife and I moved to Nebraska. Things have been great, and I have no plans to change anything in the foreseeable future. I run on average 3000-3300 miles every week rarely anything less and on track to hit 159,000 miles for the entire year.
How has everyone else been? Anyone not looking forward to winter? 😂

Hey Jamie! Glad to see you back and glad to hear you're still out there making it happen!
Hey, this is really a blast from the past, but does Crete still offer drivers their choice of loads if they have multiple loads available in an area? Back in the day, they were the only company I knew of that did. I thought that would be a massive improvement in the lives of drivers if they could get a choice sometimes, but rarely did I see it happen.
How have your miles been this year?
Hey! Yeah I can’t believe it has already been 5 years since I started trucking… time flew by.
Sadly not, Crete has not done this for a number of years and not at all since I came here 4 years ago. They said they had to stop doing it with the amount of drivers they have and how long some people take to respond to preplans, it became a problem. But it’s not really a force dispatch company, they do tend to work with you the longer you have been here and get to know your asset manager.
I have heard a lot of stories of people having problems with their asset managers, but I have not seen it if you’re willing to work with them. I have nothing bad to say about Crete, I enjoy my time here and get paid pretty well for it too.
The year started off pretty bad on the reefer side, I was running dedicated for Shaffer at the time and came back to the Walmart fleet in May and things have been super busy as they always are on this account.
But I’m course to run about 140k miles for the entire year. So they have been keeping me busy. :D

How is everyone doing? It’s been awhile since I have posted.
Not much has changed, I’m still driving for Crete. I’ve been here a little over 4 years now, mostly on their Walmart dedicated fleet, and a mix of other dedicated fleets

Dumbest thing I could’ve ever done
This is why I won't drink more than 24 hours before returning to work, and I never drink while just on a reset. I only do it at home, and normally the first day or two out of a 4-day home time to avoid anything like this from happening. It's very important to never put yourself in a situation where you might test positive on something that can easily be prevented, especially when having a CDL.

Crete allows you to run recaps or reset, it depends on the driver or miles you ran that week. I run out of hours before I get recaps back since I’m a local drive and have to log basically everything on duty.
Some dispatchers also prefer you run recaps, but either is fine. Just remember communication is key when working in the trucking industry, it’s not like majority of jobs.
