Swift vs CFI?!!

I completed on boarding for CFI and I leave with a rental car to Missouri on 11/9. On the other hand Swift starts you out with more CPM and Higher Training pay.

Now I know the first year of trucking is going to be the deal breaker. So for long term goals and happiness,What company would be better or has been better for you.

Edit: (I heard prime is good as-well but I’m in Florida).

Hello, I have been with SWIFT Transportation for a while and I am enjoying it. I am based in El Paso, TX, and run Dedicated. This is my 17th month with them. This Dedicated position helped me gaining experience and my supervisors are very special. During the last 17 months, I was able to keep my DriveSmart Safety Score at 0. I've been hauling for CardinalHealth and their business partners Sterogenics. They have a plant in El Paso. I and my co-driver bring the finished products to CardinalHealth/Sterogenics distribution centers in Charlotte, Buford (GA), Waukegan (IL), and occasionally to Ontario, CA. Then we pick up raw materials from shippers and bring it to the plant in El Paso or sometimes Nogales, AZ. Very rewarding job.

A large company such as Swift has a large network. You can rely on them, especially when you have a breakdown or need On-Road Services. They are very quick in responding to our calls. The communication is very good. The base is El Paso. Mostly, we drive along the I-10/I-20/I-85 weekly and the back trip to El Paso usually leads along I-40/I-30/I-20/I-10. This is usually the route we drive weekly. Sometimes, we go to Waukegan to deliver and pick up in Mundelein, IL, or Shawano, WI, and go back to El Paso. Occasionally, we pick up in Windsor Locks, CT, driving along the I-81/I-84.

Swift is good for gaining experience and keeping the safety score low. Zero is the best safety score you can get. I like their network and the many terminals they have. It is also possible to park at a Knight Transportation terminal if necessary. I saw Knight trucks parking at Swift terminals as well.

In December 2021, I will have my first two years completed with them. The trip scan and the pay is always on time and there haven't been issues here so far.

Swift has been a good experience so far.

Music For The Road

Hi,

whenever I drive, songs don't have to relate to trucking. However, I like to listen to more complex music such as progressive rock/metal.

I recommend the song Vanden Plas - On My Way to Jerusalem or And the Road Goes On by Edenbridge as an example.

If you want a song related to both Trucking and Halloween, then try Deadbolt - Voodoo Trucker or El Paso.

When you drive graveyard hours, you might like a song related to the night such as Nightfall Overture by Nightingale.
