VA apprenticeship

So maybe it's me, but all my searching on here I haven't been able to find any information about companies and the apprenticeship program that's recent. Seems like everything is 3-4 year old posts. My question is has anyone gone through any of the companies that offer the apprenticeship program within the last year? I'm currently in school and they are pushing Werner and schneider really hard! I've been really looking into jim palmer/wiltrans as well because of the regional and home time. Being prior service I don't trust recruiters and sure as heck not trusting a school who is pushing 2 companies that have crap plastered all over their walls and training trucks.. Guess I'm just looking for info on companies and current experience and recommendations. Thanks in advance.

why not Schneider or Werner? Just curious confused.gif

Alot of wwaiting...

So I've been here at orientation a week now, the first few days were paperwork, videos, drug testing and seeing the doctor again. Still waiting on a trainer tho a few have left from my class but not many with a trainer .There are others from classes before still waiting. some are giving up going home, dont understand that because we are still getting paid and why go through this whole process just to quit??? Even tho the waiting around is difficult when your used to being busy all day working is tough, I know it wont be like this much longersmile.gif

Orientation

So today I got checked into the hotel, they go over times when shuttle arrives to take you to the terminal. Tell you what time to pick up your Breakfast.. which is a brown bag with a poptart, cereal, milk. or you can get a microwave burrito. Well yum! lol Any hoo, not much except unpacking, resting for tomorrow up and early call at 6 am then its paperwork, drug test and CBLs. I'm told the wait times for a trainer could be weeks. Maybe that's not the case. confused.gifsmile.gif
