Looking fo good starting company. (Have criminal record)

Hi, I just noticed that I still have an account here.

I’m concerned that if the sponsored training doesn’t teach 18 sp that I would have the “no man trans” restriction on the cdl? Also, can I study for the cdl permit test on my own and get ALL endorsements?

I’m concerned that these company sponsored training is FAST PACED. And what can you bring inside the cab, and what about safety?

I figured that CDL A is better than driving a moving truck or a school bus.

I see many users on here with only a handful of posts, and then disappear.

Unfortunately, all you can do is apply everywhere. You are in a position that is actually worse than not having your CDL at all. It's considered stale at this point.

Your history is also one that requires you to be ready for a whole lot of "No." All you need at this point is for someone to say yes.

For future readers, this is why we push company sponsored training. Once you are accepted to their training, they already have invested in your success. They have already run your background checks and know if you are disqualified by anything in your past. Once you pass the initial training, you have a job. (There are some statistically rare situations where you wouldn't. But that's very rare.)

Is it still worth it to become a trucker?

I thought about going into OTR trucking a while back, say 2017 or so. Not really sure if it's right for me. I thought the supply chain was backed up with the ships not coming into the ports? Why the transition to automatic these days? I guess it's less stressful that way?

Don't really plan on getting married with this Chinese virus going around. Sorry if that offends anyone on here.

CDL training

Is there a lot of traffic out in Kingman AZ? Does CFI teach auto-shift or manual transmission?

Why do you want to become a truck driver???

I hear people complain and nitpick over dumb things like the cleanliness of the hotel during training or that their trainer talks on the phone too much. I'm always scratching my head over the way people seem to miss the excitement of it all.

One would have to be super dedicated to put up with a dirty hotel room...

How did you learn to drive

Well, before I created my account I did have a chance to read a few forum posts on here. It seems that the consensus is that there'll always be people who complain because of not putting in effort and I was actually leaning towards Prime, Inc. to be completely honest.

My concern is that TruckingTruth might be promoting these company sponsored training(s) for a profit and thus be biased.

I know that this industry chews up people who are not well prepared and sitting in a classroom for weeks definitely doesn't prepare you like actually working while training.

About my comment about "degree mill": I was referring to C.R. England based on several reviews on Google Maps.

How did you learn to drive

Hello friends,

My name is Joe and I am from New York. I would like to know if an 8 week 304 hour school is appropriate for finding work in this business.

152 hours classroom/152 hours driving instruction. Company sponsored training no longer appeals to me because of their degree mill type way of doing business. It's not in depth compared to a private school.

The school I am interested in is called Commercial Driver Training, www.cdtschool.com
