Does your company get you home in time?
When I first read the title of the post, I assumed it was like a little late getting home, not three days! I'm new to trucking, but that just doesn't sound cool at all. Why would there be such a delay? Is it a logistics issue or is it just waiting on the load to be ready?

Melissa, you tell your brother to apply at ALL the trucking companies he can find. He can use this app for that !!! Apply For Truck Driving Jobs . A wreck isn't a killer for getting a job, it just makes it a little more difficult. If he wasn't at fault, that will make it better. If he has kept the police reports, or can get them, it will make it easier. Companies will look at him better, if he gives them the particulars of the wreck, even if it was his fault. So tell him to get on here, and start applying !! There are literally hundreds of trucking companies...and there is one out there for him !!!
Thanks for listing that app! I am going to have to check it out as I need all of the information I can get. :)

It posts like this that make me remember why I came here. I haven't gotten a citation yet, but I do drive through Indiana often which I hear is bad for us. At least now, I know where to turn with my questions.

It sounds like things are going well! I can't wait to have stories like those! I am just starting out on the road and it's definitely been a cool journey so far. I am glad I found this site too though as the stories and information will help keep me going through my first year driving.

Brett, love the new site color
I'm a newbie here so I must have missed the old style. I do like how it doesn't strain the eyes reading it. Some sites try for that "cool black" look and I swear it makes me go blind after reading through some posts. :)

That's awesome!! You will definitely be an asset to any company on the road! It just goes to show that the proper training course can go a long way. Did you have to put in long hours studying or did it just come naturally?

Considering the change to a trucking career - input welcome!
I just got into trucking and I wish my wife would drive team with me. I think it would be the best thing for us. She said she doesn't mind going along as long as it wasn't on overnighters, long hauls or in inclement weather. I think she is trying to tell me something! :)
I noticed that a couple of you mentioned something about a company sponsored school. Is that the same as the place I learned, just a company paid for the training?

The Most Startled I have Been on the Road
I have been an Art Bell fan even before I took up with the trucking industry. I have always been the driver on long trips and I think that's where I picked it up.
