I am almost ceritan if I took the CLP test for New Mexico I could pass it, but as I do not have a way to practice I am holding off.
Our free training program is the best there is. Stop thinking you don't have a way to practice. You do - here it is...
I've been utilizing this and CDL Practice test's version, but I should clarify, I mean hands-on practice (In an actual Tractor-Trailer) even though I don't need it for the learners permit, I feel it'd be a waste of time until school starts (next week finally!!)
that said, I look forward to finally hitting the books hard and putting some knowledge on the road finally. I am lucky to have another trucker as a mentor and partner (how ever due to fuel hauling/DOT/company regs she cannot do much in training). I will be updating this thread further as time goes on, I have not been due to limited time as of recent but I look forward to sharing my experience.

So I saw a thread from Tinker, regarding the CNM CDL courses. This is some inspiration behind my documenting of this but I figured I'd share my experience as well.
So, a little about me. I am not entirely new to the idea of trucking. Saw my Ma get her CDL when I was 8, and when I was 4 I was thinking about becoming a fuel hauler. But, this is completely new for me. I am excited and I believe this is a smart, and wonderful career move for me. I do plan on doing fuel hauling after school, but I have plans in case that's not particularly available.
Over the last 2 weeks I have been taking practice tests via apps and cdlpracticetest.com. my scores have dramatically improved and I am feeling more confident about the tests. Today I have signed up for the CNM courses for truck driving, and I start 8/31. Looking forward to it and I hope it goes to plan.
I'll update with my scores in the meanwhile and what little I can learn. I am almost ceritan if I took the CLP test for New Mexico I could pass it, but as I do not have a way to practice I am holding off.
Anywho, Howdy!

CNM Work-though
So, 6 week check in-
Passed my Permit, HazMat, Doubles, Triples, Tanker, Combo, and air brakes tests. I just did my HazMat Fingerprints and background today, so now I wait for it to come back in.
I have to say the Community College is probably the best value I've found (and heard of) so far. It's definitely not rushed like a lot of the other programs (Phoenix Truck Driving School, or any Company/Trainer as a prime example) and I feel not nearly as expensive- ~$1200 in State for the program. You learn primarily on 53' Trailers and flatbeds with Manual tractors, combined the occasional 45' and automatic/Autoshift transmissions, so you get a fair overall experience. I've enjoyed the instructors so far. In 2 weeks we will be stating to take the trucks out of the parking lot and actually driving- No more just backing maneuvers (though I am sure there will be plenty of miles backwards). A lot of us are wondering if New Mexico is going to shut down again and cause some problems with the program and getting our CDLs, but knock on wood we won't have issues. There is a lot of previous students that I have chatted with through the Reddit r/Trucking. I am pretty excited to be continuing this.. hopefully I can post more this month.
