I have driven non-cdl straight truck both box and flatbed off and on for about 15 years . While working my way up the corporate ladder from trucking, inside sale, then store manger. My last job I was running a electrical company . But the whole time my heart was always in the truck with the smell of diesel and the road ahead. Looking forward to starting down the road again with all the new challages ahead. I have a very supportive wife that has pushed me to follow my dreams and get out of the corporate rat race. Quotes I live by "Everyone thinks of changing the world but no ones thinks of changing himself " "Difficult and meaningful will always bring more satisfaction the easy and meaningless"

From what I read. You should be fine. They may review one on one onsite. Just be upfront and all will go well. Here is what you are in for. Week1 med card physically, class time , a lot of computer based training and sim labs . Do not be 1 min late for anything. On Friday when you are done everything and background checks come back. They will issue you a green prime id . This will get $200.00 a week advance loaded on it till you test out and get your cdl. P.S you will need your cdl permit before you get there from your home state. After you pass your cdl test you get hired and start tnt 50k or more miles on a truck with a trainer. Which you get $700.00 a week for the first 40k then $800.00 till upgrade. Pay is only if you are eligible for dispatch. Best of luck. I love it here at prime .

Hi there I am almost done my training at prime. There are a great company that makes you feel like family. Sure it was a big step in life I have a wife at home and times can be tough. But it’s life change we jumped into head first. Prime will get you the training and the tools you need to drive if you want it. I had 3 women in my class in June and we all still talk to each other and help each other . Not one of them had ever been in side a big rig but all three got there cdl first try. They are all doing very well with there training as one told me the other day it get easier every mile and every stop she never thought moving around a big truck would become a natural feeling. But when she went home last week for a few days her car felt strange to drive and she wanted her big truck back. If your committed prime had the tools to get you there. Best of luck in choosing a new path in life. P.s I am a little one sided but there are a lot of good training companies out there .

I don’t know about the weekend schools but.i can tell you Prime has a great program and you paid plus real world experience not just pad and around town stuff. I would look into all options before you make up your mind. In my opinion you will be setting your self up better with a company sponsored training. Remember most are only a year contract. It’s not a four year degree . You can do it if you what it bad enough. Good luck in your new adventure

Well sorry it’s been so long with this . So if you may remember my snot so clean trainer. Well, after a few goes at it with my FM . I got a new trainer and things are going well. I thought my last trainer was teaching me stuff well I was wrong new guy has 10 years of class A otr under his belt and was like starting over it’s been great a lot hard trying times mentally but I have pulled through. This has been one of the hardest few months of my life so far but hey, I keep trying and I will get through this. Any one coming in looking for advice the guys and women here are great; straight-forward and no BS. Thanks to all of you. Will be back after my upgrade but for now back to training and driving

Hi all
It’s been a long time sense I have put anything up here. I am still here and running for prime. Almost done year 1 and still having fun. It’s been a crazy year filled with highs and lows. But would like to thank everyone who gave me good advice on here from day one. As I am now getting more free time on the road hope to get on here more. Big thanks to Rainey. Old school, rat pack, and Brett I know I am forgetting people that helped me make this dream come true and sorry for that. But all at TT have always given straight forward advice and thank you for that
