I cannot believe Roehl would kick you out of training after only one failure due to a random comment, or some sarcastic joke, either. It must have been a very offensive statement for that to have happened.
Again, I don’t feel we are getting the entire story. Has to be more.
I understand, but If there was more to the story I would tell you all with no hesitation. It’s not something that I’m embarrassed to talk about, and I don’t harbor any bad feelings towards Roehl because of it.

There is more to this story. I’m a Roehl grad. All though several years now, but I had 2 classmates that took the state exam in wisconsin twice before they passed. I’m sorry but 1 and done there does not sound right to me
Thanks PJ...I was hoping a Roehl-er would confirm my thought.
So how about it there Dominique, please tell us the whole, unabashed story. Then we may actually be able to offer you sound advice.
I brain farted while pre tripping the coupling systems and driver side of the trailer and missed 2 less parts than what was needed to pass. It was weird to me because the tester didn’t tell me that I failed until we went inside the truck for the in-cab inspection, which I passed 90/90. After he told me that I failed, I made a comment (this is where I believe that it cemented me not getting a second chance) and said that I thought if I failed on anything it would’ve been on 90 degree backing. I guess the tester told Roehl and felt that my joke was indication of lack of confidence or something and felt that I was undeserving of a second try.

Did you fail Roehls final test, or the DMV test? If you passed all Roehls testing but only failed the state exam were you still given a 160 hour completion certificate?
It's highly unlikely you will find someone who is able to do that here. Most drivers here are company drivers and it's not allowed. The O/O will lose quite a bit of revenue to do so. Have you looked Into "1 day CDL" type things in your area? We have a few north of Des Moines that charge I believe $350 for 6ish hours of practice then allow you to use their equipment for the test.
I failed the state test, I wasn’t given any certificate they just sent me home the following day. And I’ve actually never heard of the 1 Day CDL programs until now, that’s likely the route that I’m gonna take because I found some in my area. Thanks for that bit of information it was very helpful.

I’m looking for someone in my area (Kansas City, Missouri) that’ll let me train/practice in their truck so that I can take the test at the DMV to get my CDL.
I went through Roehl’s program but ended up failing the final test, and they’re charging me $7,000, which discourages me from going to another company to get my CDL because if I fail again I’ll probably end up owing north of $10,000+ to both companies and I’d rather not risk it. And also, I want to use my CDL to go into construction and company’s usually keep you in a contract for awhile so any alternative to being locked in somewhere would be more convenient for me and my situation. If anyone in the area (Kansas City, Missouri) is willing please let me know, it’ll be greatly appreciated.
