Husband/Wife Team about to start school soon
My husband & I have decided that we want to get our CDL and be team drivers. Since we are doing this as a team, we’ve decided to do school as a team and find a company that would train us together as well. So, we have talked with Roadmaster for schooling and Werner will allow us to go out and train together. We understand that it will take longer for us to do it this way, but that’s fine with us. Before I made the decision to do this as well, my husband had talked with Swift and went for his physical but had to get his diabetes under control and they also said he would need a sleep study. We have our granddaughters until October, so we will not be able to start until then. Between now and then we are trying to prepare everything because we are going all in on this - no home, no car, just living in the truck. So I have a few questions that I’ve been trying to find answers to, but I think this community is the best place to get some of the best information.
So here are my questions: 1. What are suggestions about sleep study? We have no insurance right now and everything we do healthcare related, we are paying cash out-of-pocket. 2. Is there another company that someone could suggest us go through, that is company paid school, that would allow us to do the training together? 3. Since we are going to be living out of our truck, we will need to get a PO Box. I know that we have to have a physical address, but if we have a licenses in Arizona, can we have a physical address is Alabama, but the PO Box in Arizona? We currently still have Alabama licenses but are going to get them changed to Arizona before getting our permit. 4. What are somethings that are suggested that we have prepared to take with us? For training and after we get our truck? 5. Any other suggestions for a husband/wife team that is about to start this journey?

Any homeless Truckers out there?
My husband & I are about to do this. He finished school and got his CDL 2 weeks ago and left today with his trainer. I start school tomorrow. We are putting things that are sentimental or that was just too hard to part with, in his Mom's garage, and giving up everything else, including the car. Our daughters LOVED being able to split up all of our furniture and home decorations! Some people think we are a little crazy for doing it, but in our opinion, what do we have to loose??? We are super excited about seeing the country from the rig and deciding where we want our next little "vacation" to be, then ultimately deciding where to settle down for retirement. This is a sure fire way of making sure you save enough to have that "fun money" when you retire!!!
